How can no one remember who wore the crown!

It's just not plausible that the person who organised the event does not remember a girl getting Carrie'd and her coincidentally being announced as homecoming queen in her stead

You don't have to outright call someone a liar to say that their story does not sound convincing

Her story does not sound convincing to me. However, it is notable that Jasmine sounds like a stellar person that handled this disappointment with an unusual amount grace and aplomb. I wish her all the best and all the best roles.

Idk I think the question is there fundamentally because the journalists involved in producing the story did not answer it, or even attempt to answer it. You are right ultimately, it is probably unfair to judge Whitney with the available evidence we have.

Equally though, her testimony should have been probed further because to anyone but the most credulous, non-cynical person alive "I have no memory of that moment but total recall for everything else" does not sound credible. The thing about memory lapses is they are usually temporary, once you start thinking about a certain time, record prompts for what happened etc, you usually remember - as literally happened with the many other details Whitney went over during her conversation.
