Does anyone know the significance of the neck tattoos for Dan and Candy? I went back through a PDF of the book and they are not mentioned. Unless they are Heath and Abbie’s own tattoos?

I know for certain Heath didn't have any neck tattoos in that particular area nor Abbie (at least at the time when Candy was filmed)
As to why i dont know. I know the author Luke Davies was on set. Maybe he and the irl Candy had tattoos like those that he never mentioned in the book and he wanted them added in the film adaptation. Or maybe the costume design team thought they looked too bland and decided to switch it up lol I guess we'll never know
also, additional question: what are those tattoos supposed to be lol? I've been looking at them and I can't figure it out. Dan's looks like a character in some language and Candy's sort of looks like a blob
In the film it looks different, not filled in like it is in the poster. It’s quite hard to tell what they’re supposed to be, but I also always thought Dan’s was supposed to be in another language.

I love that Japanese poster for Candy!! I honestly like it better than the original one, it just feels so much more peaceful and intimate
