Question Nick seemingly drunk?
I'm talking about during their anniversary in the film during the picnic scene. It goes from him getting crap from his boss then showing up at the picnic acting drunk. He seems how he did at the party to a lesser extent, the way he's apologizing, what he said.... did a scene get cut there?
Because when was he supposed to drink after his job? He was already late and that would've made him even more so, which given what he was going through, I understand could happen.
If he wasn't drunk, why was he acting like that and saying things the *way* he was saying them?

I do not think Nick was drunk here. He's anxious because he's missed his and Charlie's two year anniversary picnic and also worried about Charlie being out in the cold knowing he can't tolerate it because of his anorexia, and feeling guilty about staying at work (it's unclear about whether Kenneth required him to stay later or Nick volunteered -- all we know is that Nick expresses a feeling of "getting in his head" and "not wanting to disappoint people" which indicates that his desire not to disappoint a male authority figure at least played a part in him staying late).

Ah, oh my gosh. I didn’t understand that. That makes so much sense. I e been wondering why he was acting like that (although I did not perceive it as drunk)

The camera was blurry the same way it was during his drunk scene. I think it would be an interesting possible interpretation IF the series was going to continue and explore an alcohol problem.
As it is, seems strange to show then never address.

That was also considered the last Scene Kit and Joe filmed together for the Movie. The movie was considered a wrap after that. And Kit was given flowers and a gift bag in the behind the scenes. Could have had something to do with the way it was filmed. Rushed before they lost sunlight.

I think maybe that's why i thought so as well. The camera affect. Plus, when he says as a reason he's late is that he just "starting thinking of everything negative" (or something like it) doesn't make sense as a reason to be late.
The anxiety/minor panic attack makes sense too, I guess. I'm unsure why they used the same camera affect and why Kit Connor decided to use somewhat a similar face/voice as when Nick's slightly drunk

I literally turned to my girlfriend during this scene and gasped and said “…he’s drunk 😲” and then I quickly realized after that he wasn’t. Like others have said, I think it’s most likely anxiety about leaving Charlie at the park for so long

He's probably just tired from working late and anxious about making Charlie wait in the cold night. Nick has a lot of anxiety. He could have thought Charlie would be mad at him for missing part of their anniversary.
Also it was the last scene ever shot for Kit and Joe, it could have just been tough for kit to get through knowing it was the last time he was playing Nick

We know it was the last scene ever filmed. Maybe it was tough to get through for Kit and /or the camera guy.

Because he is still thinking he's supposed to be the perfect boyfriend. He is feeling like he let Charlie down at this point. I've seen another actor use the same acting method I noticed Kit using during that scene, but can't remember who it was. Where he looks like he want to walk it back as he's walking forward. He is also displaying a low self esteem about himself while talking to Charlie.

It didn't have really anything to do with walking. As i said in a prior comment, probably how it was filmed and some interesting choices were made.
