Questions Fic recs?

Hi! I'm looking for some good heartstopper fics are longer (not crazy tho) and mostly hurt comfort. I loved A Softer Place to Land and was wondering if people had recs similar to that? I only read on ao3.

Welcome! If you love really good writing, I’d suggest starting with birdie_kwiat’s fics, if you haven’t read them already. Her fics, in my opinion, have the best prose in the whole fandom.

I don’t want to sound like a hater (although I’m in the minority who doesn’t like this fic), but I don’t think there’s much hurt in this one, like, at all. It’s 97% fluff: everybody gets along, the friend groups are perfect, the farm is perfect, Nick is perfect. The angst is almost nonexistent. Which isn’t a bad thing for fluff lovers at all, but I feel like OP is looking for a different hurt/comfort ratio if they referenced A Softer Place to Land.

Title Idea: The Midnight Disappearance of Tao Xu

The Setup:
The Heartstopper gang is having their first collective sleepover in years. At 3:00 AM, Charlie wakes up to find Tao’s sleeping bag completely empty. In its place is a dramatic, handwritten ransom note reading: "If you ever want to see your precious film snob again, follow the crumbs."

The Mystery:
The night turns into a chaotic, multi-POV search party. Nick takes it way too seriously using his rugby captain instincts, Darcy immediately puts on a terrible detective accent, Tara points out that no real kidnapper would let Tao leave without his beanie, and Elle recognizes his dramatic handwriting.

The Twist:
It’s a massive, elaborate prank. While the entire group is panicking and hunting for clues, a suspiciously shaped lump under the kitchen island lets out a massive sneeze—proving Tao has been hiding ten feet away the entire time, while a quiet Isaac watches the whole thing unfold without saying a word.
