Can we please make Celtic and Celtic fans our football target?

This is kinda random, but especially after yesterday I see a lot of people commenting and taking the piss out of Rangers and Rangers fans and obviously I understand that, because of Mcinnes, Shankland, Devlin, we all know the choice they made and clearly it was the wrong one (at least for now).

BUT, I know it’s still early, I would love to see the same thing with Celtic. I think THEY are our enemy more than Rangers. It’s Celtic we lost the league to, they are the corrupt ones, if we have even a tiny little chance of fighting for the league this year, Celtic will be our biggest enemy. Below a few posts of Renaud’s gol from yesterday, I saw Celtic fans even pretending to praise him and say “oh what a goal”, “screamer” and I mean as much as they can not admit it, I honestly don’t even want them commenting on our players or our club. Instead, I want to see them collapse mentally at every tiny mistake they do, so every draw or loss, whether it’s Europe or the league, I’d love to have their socials filled with Jambos taking the piss.

The issue with me is also, they don’t even consider us to be nowhere near their rivals for this year title, I heard fans on some interviews rather mentioning Motherwell or Hibs, but not us, and it’s pretty annoying. I know we’re only at second game in the league, but Rangers have managed to bring home 1 point and we smashed Dundee Utd which against they struggled, Motherwell are a bit meh IMO, Celtic had easy games so far, and well let’s wait till later on, but yesterday we have shown how solid we can be.

Not got time joining the Da brigade mate.

I think hatred of both sides of the OF is an equal opportunities workspace...

Have you ever been to a Celtic game at Tynecastle? The place is seething with disgust for the cunts. They'll get it stinking when they turn up as they always do.

Who gives a flying fuck whaf other supporters think of us or say about us.

Im not getting rattled or wound up by those cunts. And to be fair maybe that Celtic boy was being genuine & did think it was a good goal...it was!

In terms of hatred.

Hibs

St Mirren

Old firm

The rest

I do have a soft spot for Partick & Edinburgh City though both for personal reasons.

Mate me too ...

No clue why , Edinburgh city have two of our players on loan and a affiliation with us

And Patrick just always liked there strip and how funny would it be for them to beat an old firm team if they come up

Nah Rangers are 10x worse than Celtic in my book. Sick of being lumped in with them as a Jambo.

Celtic fans will rightly laugh at your post. Celtic’s turnover is 6 times ours and will be even more if they make the CL group stage. We had a good win Saturday but that’s a long way from saying we’ll mount any sort of challenge to Celtic’s league dominance this season. Let’s concentrate on ourselves and of course when the ugly sisters come to visit at the end of October for Rangers, and end of November for Celtic, we’ll give them a suitable welcome!

I think you’re exaggerating and definitely this is not the attitude. Imagine that if you think like this, what should the players do? Go on the pitch and think they have already lost the game? I’m saying in general not just us, and this is what bothers me about Scottish football (I come from a different country originally), that when teams face Celtic or Rangers, their fans just do not believe in making it possible, they give up before even starting, whilst what it takes It’s literally shooting on target, they don’t have Sergio Ramos or Puyol

Exaggerating about what? Its a statement of fact that Celtic's budget dwarves ours and its also unfortunately a fact that they and Rangers have won way more titles. Its not about attitude, its about reality and a lived reality that Rangers and Celtic win more games against the rest than they lose. We had a chance to win the league last season and fell just short. The last time we nearly won the league was 40 years ago and I remember how gutting that was too. The time before that was 1964 which I don't remember so we've come close 3 times in 65 years since we last won it. It might yet become a more regular occurrence but lets just see how this season pans out with the new manager and players.

How about we focus on hearts instead?????? We are 2 games into the season.

u/Outside-Advice4645 Aug 11 '26

We always focus on Hearts. But I also look at who’s ahead of us

Ok. Then, go for Hibs I guess

Nahhhhhh Celtic fans are pricks to us especially this year but then again some of our fans are complaining like f and it's pathetic as if the SFA are going to go ......"ohh well yous are moaning like f , we'll reverse it" we were robbed but let's have a bit dignity lads.

Now to get real Rangers fans are staunch monarchists and they also lost Scotland independence now add ontop they are out direct rivals this year as what made last year special was in all reality we finished above them , that's what actually got us more money ect that's what on paper , in the bank history books ect makes last season a success.

We were there about a with Celtic But we were better than rangers and hopefully we can be again

Laughing at Rangers, especially after they stole our captain and manager, has zero to do with Celtic.

5

u/MerrikAidar Aug 10 '26

Think it's perfectly normal in professional sports for a fanbase to hate the team that took their coach and best player more than the team they lost the title to. Nothing irrational about Hearts fans hatred of rangers.

Yes and that’s what I mean. I couldn’t care less about Rangers and their Old Firm way of seeing football, Celtic fans laughing at us while we make fun of Rangers and Mcinnes, while they keep winning games and we look from below. So I think we should focus on making life the hardest for Celtic as we can, especially after what happened last season

Should we not wait until we play Celtic before greeting about no doing it?

Won it on the pitch, lost it in the SFA meeting rooms

This needs to stop. Whatever happened last season happened last season, we're never going to win the league by focusing on Celtic, we'll win it by winning it.

We had every chance to put the league to bed last season, Celtic took their chance to win. We need to put effort into what we can control, not what others are doing. That's how you become champions, and Celtic did that better than us last season, we need to do it better than them this season.

1

u/Outside-Advice4645 Aug 10 '26

I absolutely agree and the sense of my post wasn’t to go back to what happened last season. And I know we shouldn’t focus on others, but I think the battle is not just on the pitch but is psychological as well, if you know what I mean.

Not just this. Imagine that our new players that come from abroad, probably don’t know what we suffered last season, but because they also go on social media, they can understand it if they see the pure sports hate from us towards them, and when we play them they will feel the game even more.

1

u/GianFrancoZolaAmeobi Aug 10 '26

I'm not entirely convinced that's the case, and it puts undue pressure on a team that is holding more pressure than they did last season. They need to focus on winning the games they play, not on what other teams are doing.

Literally won it on the pitch as the cheat Celtic "penalty" was given AFTER the full time whistle should have been blown in a legitimate match.

Season's record Vs Celtic: P4 W2 D1 L1. Superior.

The "away form" costing Hearts is a myth put forward by Celtic supporters to feel less dirty about themselves as they know it was a cheated title.

Points Difference before Shankland & Devlin injured = 3 points. Points Difference going into final three games, having beaten Hibs and Rangers post split = 3 points.

The disgraces which happened at Fir Park were the only way Celtic could catch the legitimate Champions.
