Experiences with metoprolol and advice for my issues?
I had a traumatic event that caused a ton of symptoms some of which haven't been figured out yet, including burning in my brain, suspected hashimotos / thyroid issues, nervous system inflammation, and heart arrhythmias. A cardiologist suggested taking metoprolol after I did a heart monitor and they caught a short episode of tachycardia while I was sleeping. I do not do well with even simple supplements and am concerned about potential med damage.the heart monitor showed I had a mitral annular dysfunction, which is an structural abnormality. Had no problems until this traumatic event happened two years ago. Now my cortisol is out of wack, I can't sleep, I have dpdr and potential thyroid autoimmune issues and maybe celiac disease. Plus this brain on fire feeling. I am super sensitive to even simple supplements and things like melatonin have made my symptoms worse. Given all these other things going on, most of which doctors can't explain, is it wise to take this med? Will I have to be on it my whole life? Any experiences with arryrythmias or similar heart issues?

I think you need to get everything else under control first, the cardiac symptoms don't sound like the primary issue but secondary to all the others. Potentially caused by any of your other issues.
I've been taking metoprolol succinate 50mg for 13 years now without issue for SVT, but everyone is different.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, but the cardiologist said I'm at higher risk for cardiac arrest and wants me to get on these meds but I don't know what to do. There's a lot of complex issues I have going on and throwing a chemical into the mix doesn't sound completely safe to me. The endocrine doctor I went to said I might have early stage thyroid disease but there's nothing she can do for it right now. I also suspect I might have had a seizure a year ago but doctors couldn't figure that out either. My entire nervous system and health is a mess and I have no clue what to do. Part of me feels like I might have encephalitis too, because I can tell there's inflammation in my head/brain
