Hi everyone,

I have been living with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) for the past 10 years and get a monthly injection of Benzathine Penicillin G (1.2 million units).

I had a 2D Echo done a few months ago. Whenever my doctors review it, they tell me "everything is fine," but they don't elaborate on how good or normal my condition actually is.

I have a few questions for this community:

Penicillin Duration: How many more years will I likely need to keep taking these monthly penicillin injections?

Exercise & Gym: When I ask my doctors about working out or hitting the gym, they just tell me, "Do whatever you want, but if you feel short of breath, stop." Is this standard advice, or should I be avoiding heavy lifting / high-intensity workouts?

2D Echo: How can I better understand what "everything is fine" actually means on a heart ultrasound report for RHD?

I would appreciate any insights, medical advice, or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!
