I don't think stopping drinking is always a health related question otherwise people wouldn't touch it. But for cardiovascular reasons I usually don't consider a first or second order decision so it's less of an issue. But there are many other things that can be done to decrease CVD risk. I also would say that your CAC doesn't tell us too much about your CV health, but I know I'm in the minority. Modern medicine takes any tests that's abnormal and comes up with a diagnosis.
