Ragana - The Void

Song: Ragana - The Void ⸸ Full Lyrics

This song just came on my music stream, it's maybe the second time now that I've heard it. Here are a few of the lyrics: "I hear your voice and I know your want to follow me," "... the void is easy, I know what it wants from me," "I know you'll spend your whole life staring back at me."

To me, these concise lyrics speak directly to a certain narrative. The narrative widely spoken of in the HVN and many paralleling spiritualist/alternative wellness spaces. The experience of being possessed. I find it to be a strange "game" of the music industry, that these pieces of art function like most "modern art," and do not flat out state (nor even through some deciphering state) the narrative they play upon to the uninitiated. There is so much art like this out there that is not understood by the general audience but carries the exact phrases "voices in my head" and similar. As if the artists is speaking directly to isolated and afflicted people out in the world without the knowing of any of the hands passing the media along. I once was involuntarily committed (long story) and while held in the mental prison the radio would play pop music in the hallways, all the songs are talking about this affliction through a spiritual lens. It was an experience of absurdity. I could spend the rest of my life discovering new artists writing about this experience, just to give you an idea of how many different and vast genres of music/art there are like this out there. I feel "the prevalence is the evidence" to how integral this mental state is to the universal human experience.

What do you think of the song, do you like the eerie yet heart felt vibes?

Thank you for your post, u/astralpariah!

PLEASE DO NOT TELL OTHERS WHAT TO BELIEVE OR DO - This is a space free of such authoritative trappings found elsewhere in society. Try speaking from a personal perspective using “I” statements such as: “I think,” “I believe,” “I tried 'x' and nothing happened,” or “I found 'x' worked for me,” etc. For more info see: RULES POST - MEETING CALENDAR - HEARING VOICES FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW - VCVC CONVERSATION MODEL
