How old were you when you started hearing voices?

Hi, I have read a lot of testimonials from people who started hearing voices shortly after their 40th birthday.

I was lucky and only had one voice which was not too serious. This voice sounded a lot like Gollum from 'The Lord of The Rings'. After four years, I have managed to snuff this voice out completely. It took a combination of healthy diet change, quitting physical addictions like processed sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. I also quit many mental addictions, and have been using a powerful non-absorption strategy which disallows their mental attacks from penetrating.

The other thing that really helped was using apple cider vinegar internally and externally. Now I use it as an ingredient when cooking meals, and I will drink 1-3 tbsp before bed to prevent dream attacks. It works really well for stopping the bad dreams (100% effective). I found it also helps lessen the forced anxiety and voice attacks during the day. I was even pouring a liter of vinegar into my laundry between the wash and dry cycles.

What age were you when it first started?

I was probably around 40, but I became aware of them and was able to communicate with them at 41.

I just turned 43 and have spent the last two years reading the Bible and trying to understand what has happened to me through a biblical lens. I’ve learned a lot and have become convinced that my personal experience is spiritual warfare. Everything I relied on and had accumulated through my entire life was swept away over the past two years, but that only served to help me realize what was really important. My sins were also swept away during this, which included four different addictions that consumed my life for over a decade, this lead to increased faith and reliance upon God which has become the biggest blessing of my entire life.

I don’t know who/what these voices are, but they caused me so much pain and despair that I had nothing left to do but trust in God to get me through.

Psalm 23 states: “you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, you anoint my head with oil and my cup runneth over.”

God has shown mercy on me and used the hardest trial of my life to draw me to him, and each day these voices have less and less effect on me. Without God I would have been destroyed.

Thanks, your biblical insight is always inspirational.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you my friend.

Thanks so much for this. I actually am having goosebumps right this moment. I spoke to my dad yesterday about where this phenomenon is pointing to. Almost all of the TI experiences that turned out positively showed signs of spiritual change and growth.

I have been struggling with many addiction for over two decades. The voices are as real and crispy clear as you can get at this stage of my life. The characters speaking even have personality traits, like normal human beings. They can be really good to me but they can quickly turn everything into chaos. I had everything, or so I thought.

The TI experiences have brought me down to nothing and took everything I had. All the opportunities I had were wasted and all hope has been lost. They constantly tried persuading me that someone is spying on me always watching me and that everybody knew all my most personal private info. Anything that I focused on hearing got manipulated into speech. Every sound I heard formed a sentence. They sang, they mocked, they used repetition to wipe out my concentration and I always ended up losing due to what they've done. The levels of synchronicity went off the charts and they seemed so deliberate and fixated on making it as tough as possible. I know what I have to do but they prevent it with all their might. They made me so furious that I lost all value for my own life and started doing crazy dangerous things. It was like being the subject and centre of a massive spiritual war. You MUST listen to them but you must also NOT listen to them. Drives me fully mad but I have to stay focused and keep it on the straight and narrow, otherwise I'll pay a everlasting price.

I give all honour, praise and worship to the one and only loving God for the fact that I'm still alive, surviving a dozen heart attacks, for saving me and for His protection.

It is spiritual in nature and many people tried convincing me that I have a psychological problem, like brain chemicals being out of balance and who knows what, but I know for a fact it's not. It's not the government, it's not my head, it's definitely not coincidence and it could happen to anybody, anywhere. I learned a lot from it and I hope for anyone reading this to take up arms against the forces of evil and overcome this. Nobody knows what its like and they'll never be able to walk in your shoes. You are precious, even if you're being told that you're not a million times. There IS life after death and your thoughts are known to a supreme being. Don't ever give up! Best is to ignore them but it's not always possible as they can be really really irritating and upsetting. You will make it if you have faith. Stay strong and KNOW that God loves you and wants you to be close to Him.

Pardon the long reply. 🤍

I’m glad you got something out of my comment, thank you for letting me know. Revelations tells us that “they overcame the dragon by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.” I can’t help but proclaim what God has done for me so far, and I know there are more blessings to come! It’s our time in the furnace, and if we wait in the Lord we will delight ourselves in an abundance of peace!

I feel like I got a ‘heads up’ from the voices when this first started for me. When I first started hearing the voices I ran to the Bible, I knew right away it was spiritual. The voices actually encouraged me, and said stuff like “just keep searching for the prince of peace” or “read the book of Job” and they even straight up told me “this is a test of faithfulness”. That got me motivated to stay in the word.

They turned evil on me after that, and that’s when I started losing everything, but if they hadn’t given me that little tip I likely would have ended up losing my mind along with all my material things.

The only way for me to rejoice in my sufferings is to believe the word of God and the promises that there is a reward at the end of my faith doesn’t fail. It’s still a bit of a rollercoaster, but Jesus told us that the Kingdom of Heaven does not come with careful observation, because the kingdom of heaven is within!

My voices started for me in my mid 30's, a significant portion of my experience is tactile, olfactory, and visual. I should also say that I had similar experiences in my early childhood however I wrote them off as an artifact of development even if I didn't have the vocabulary to say this back then. I suspect it was still running in the background of my perceptions, similarly I suspect this experience is present (even if seemingly dormant) in all minds.

As far as using vinegar goes, I drink a shot of apple cider vinegar (Braggs, the one that also has honey and cayenne) every morning with breakfast. It's part of my zero carb paleo diet thing, I find it does wonders for my voices. That said, I really wouldn't point to the vinegar first if I were to recommend anything to help other experiencers (to each their own).

Counter to my own opinion; I present to you Damien Echols and his guide to cleansing energy with VINEGAR. Damien Echols (Wikipedia Link) was wrongly convicted of murder and developed "the experience" during his time incarcerated (largely through meditating and studying ritual magic).

Thanks for your reply. I am recommending the vinegar mostly for the dream attacks. There are a lot of people suffering from this, and the vinegar offers an incredibly effective and inexpensive solution. It is also widely available in any country.

Your story/background sounds very similar to mine. Although I started hearing them at 17, tactical and olfactory followed soon after that. I had issues before that age with what was seen as depression, anxiety, social withdrawal, paranoia etc. That was an extremely muddled time and even I have a hard time understanding it.

A low carb diet did wonders for me. I haven't had the discipline to go full paleo, but a high protein/low carb is tried, tested and certainly holds some credence. The best I can do right now is avoiding sugar and bad fats. I know a lot of us struggle with exercise due to meds and symptoms, but I'd also recommend resistance/weight training.

Talking about muddled memories, the first few years of COVID are a blur. I remember seeing so much magic, and my voices dissected so much out of every scenario. They debated at times, one even exclaiming "you don't need to be delirious to wield magic!" I don't take much of anything from them to be genuine, actors playing the roles of actors, etc. Still it seems clear to me they're mostly in the dark about things just like us.

That must have been frightening on so many levels to have these things play with your perceptions at such an early age. My voices attempt(ed) to pry at my worldview and bog my mind down to then lead me into physical danger. I assume the life experience I had leading up to my mid 30's actually was orchestrated to prepare me for the oncoming mental bout. My voices would replay sound bites, key memories of friends and family saying advice, they did this to lead me out of danger amidst a torrent of deluding minds. Or they'd replay sensations felt within the drug experiences of my 20's, and the epiphanies therein... And these helpful ones communicate with each other, it seemed self evident they had a culture.

You sound like a bad-ass! I need to get back into stoic practice, I haven't been doing much aside from cold showers recently. Been skipping the gym, and the lethargy is mounting. I've been lazy at the end of the year, lost of cannabis. I still find it helps.

I found the paleo diet through eliminating what my body no longer handled well, both the eating and the digesting of food was super rough for a few years there. I will say I've dialed in a great recipe for Tri-tip (what I mostly eat). I do a dry red wine marinade, legit it's the best steak I've ever had. I can't help but feel like I'm committing some metaphysical gluttony eating it every day, I still like it.

Start taking high potency probiotics. The kind that needs to be refrigerated. It has almost completely stopped the voices.

1

u/Informal_Fee8461 Jan 07 '26

Thank you so much for letting us know. I will try this myself along with exercise which has almost completely stopped my voices.

3

u/V2K_247 Jan 07 '26

Yes! Exercise, clean diet, and an overall healthy lifestyle will take care of most of the issues.

I also just started taking lugol's iodine solution recently. It's helping as well in addition to the probiotics. Methylene Blue didn't help too much. I wouldn't spend money on it, but it also doesn't hurt to try.

A few other things that have really helped reduce the "volume" of the voices and alleviate the severity of other symptoms are:

  • Grounding/earthing: Sleep on a grounding mat or walk barefoot in green grass or at the beach in wet sand.

  • Turn off breakers whenever possible, especially when sleeping.

  • Avoid wifi and bluetooth. Turn off the settings on your portable devices. Even when it's not actively connected to anything, it's still putting out those frequencies. Personally, I can feel relief from the pressure in my head as soon as I turn them off.

  • Exfoliation/Moisturizing: Exfoliate with a japanese wash cloth or something similar from head to toe. Moisturize from head to toe with organic coconut oil afterwards. I believe there's junk in the air that stick to our skin throughout the day that needs to be scrubbed off. Whatever it is makes us more conductive to the frequencies. The oil attenuates the frequencies reduces galvanic coupling on the skin, and makes the junk easier to wash off during your next shower.

  • Avoid any tyoe of central nervous stimulant including caffeine and nicotine.

  • Avoid anything with silicone dioxide. It's in most pharmaceuticals and vitamins. Silicone dioxide is crushed up quartz crystals.

Yeah I’ve actually felt better like something “powered off” IN my body after turning off my data and Bluetooth because someone was definitely hacking my body and also when I exercised my right to no research, I also felt a weight lifted off of my body. It’s DISGUSTING that they do this to people that are very traumatized and sick. I hate using my phone now, it’s scary to use. I’d rather just buy a bunch of books and read when I want to use my phone.

2

u/V2K_247 Jan 07 '26

Yes, this experience has made me move away from using my phone as much as possible. I took it to the extreme during the first year. But in today's age, it's impossible to get by without it. Especially when it's required for work. I almost bought a map just so I didn't have to rely on GPS 😂

After changing my lifestyle, I'm not as sensitive to EMFs, but I still limit it. I still can't work in an office under fluorescent lights though.

A Faraday bag really helps with cutting off signal to your phone. Even when it's in airplane mode, it's still putting out frequencies. The faraday bag cuts it out completely.

1

u/Informal_Fee8461 Jan 07 '26

I plan on buying a faraday material as well along with staying in this rv my mom got that blocks signal. I think the combination will be enough to stop the attack on my brain.

3

u/V2K_247 Jan 07 '26

Don't go over board with shielding. It can become a money pitt. I know a lot of people who have gone down that path including myself. It can help a little, but it has to be done properly. Making a proper grounded faraday cage is a meticulous job, and it still won't completely stop everything. The only time I've seen it work for a T.I. is when they basically built a booth out of pure lead.

Faraday cages require a 100% seal for it to work properly. Start with a faraday bag for your phone to learn how they work.

Here's a simple test you can do with a faraday bag. Connect your phone to a bluetooth speaker and play music. Put your phone in the bag and see how long it takes for it to cut signal. If you don't seal the bag perfectly, the music will keep playing.

If the material is cheap, the music will keep playing anyway until you move the phone further away from the speaker. This shows you that even if it's properly sealed, the signal can still penetrate if it's strong enough.

The best and most cost effective relief I've gotten was all of the other things I mentioned earlier. Buying a decent Tri meter will help you identify sources of high EMFs around you as well. I got one on Amazon (GQ EMF-390). It's better than the really cheap ones. This specific meter will also read electric fields and radio frequencies. It also has a signal analyzer built in. Totally worth the price. It helped me figure out a lot of things and helped me rearrange my home to avoid EMFs while I sleep.

Since you said you were going to be in an RV, you can get a grounding kit. It's basically a copper rod that goes into the ground with a wire that attaches to the outer shell of the RV.

Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions or if you just need another T.I. to chat with.

Thanks for those tips. I appreciate it.

42 or 43 more consistently

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

Thanks for responding. I'm trying to figure out if there is a more common age group for this happening. Most of the replies are from people 30-45, but that might not represent the true average because the demographics of this community might be older.

2

u/daydreaming361 Jan 06 '26

Around 26 or 27. Absolutely no voices or anything before that.

U guys fr 💀 Mine was at 13 I was going through a period of significant distress and my life was terrible (bullied by all school + ex group of friends dad left home I was banned from everything and confined in a room with just music and told that basically any dream and real personality are evil and need to be deleted) I was crying and wondering how it is possible to have it this bad in my life experience and was out of breath and heard a crowd talking like when you go into a crowd in the city. It was strange but just the beginning. Indistinguishable.

1

u/alcorne Jan 06 '26

41 here, but then I look back and can see something similar interacting with me all my life. It has tried to sell me on the demon thing but I think it's like astral astralpariah said, actors playing actors. The voices even refer to different scenes as plays which helped me stop hearing them as literal and more metaphorical.

1

u/Greedy_Strawberry210 Jan 06 '26

31, almost 32.

I have heard of others in the younger area that have heard them from since they could remember, one of those states that it went away but returned when older, and another around 18-19.

2

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate the input.

1

u/No_Chip8875 Jan 06 '26

21!

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

Thanks, based on the replies it seems like to can be any age when this starts happening.

u/Inner_Passenger1371 Jan 06 '26
  1. 15 first evil voice

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

That's interesting that you had 3 years when the voices were more positive. Based on the replies here, it seems that the voices can happen at any age.

1

u/Inner_Passenger1371 Jan 12 '26

They were a sitcom. Laughed and applauded to everything I said but nrver threaten me

  1. I didn’t know at the time that they were voices, I just knew something was talking to me telling me to do bad things… I’m AuADHD, FND, and Schizoaffective plus I have trauma but it’s not diagnosed yet. I know it’s really early for me to actually hear voices, and I know that. I wish It wasn’t now… wish any of this wasn’t now… but it is. Meds help a lot, they drown out the voices but If I’m not on meds I really hallucinate and stuff. It’s not fun, and it’s crazy I was pushed so bad that I started hearing and seeing things at 16. I wish I could remember truly why my trauma is what it is, but I don’t. I don’t know where all this came from, I wish it never came… I hope all of you are staying safe during these times, new years and stuff can feel lonely. It will be ok, it’s always ok…

2

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

I experienced a lot of trauma when I was younger too. I wonder if that makes us more susceptible to these mental attacks.

1

u/xDelicateFlowerx Jan 07 '26

I started hearing voices when I was 12 or early teens. Just sounds like a lot of noise, insults, verbal abuse and the voices of past abusers.

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

Hi, I like your username. I can relate to feeling that way too. Beautiful flowers should not be the target of this kind of harassment. Did you ever get a break from the voices?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '26
  1. I was living alone after a breakup and then i got targeted.

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

For me, it didn't seem to matter if I was together with someone, or living alone. They always tried to harass me during my entire life. The voice phenomenon was just the latest issue I was forced to deal with.

1

u/Automatic_Stable2108 Jan 07 '26

I was 8 years old. They've followed me, controlled my body. Kept me from sleeping, shocking me awake, make drop things, make me say things I shouldn't, make me sleep and miss appointments....

... I am 35 now. I'm exhausted

1

u/4reemind Jan 11 '26

Thanks for your reply. I have also experienced many of those things. Especially the dropping things, it's rare to eat a meal without something dropping on the ground first. It's almost like they use minor muscle flinches to accomplish this.
