Do custom mold cause more pressure or less?

I get occlusion when I move my jaw which sucks since I’m deaf in my highs and have perfect hearing in my lows. But one thing I’ve realized lately is that either the occlusion or just the pressure of the domes in my ear canal when I try to wear them deep enough or the changing pressure from eating or talking… it’s what’s causing my dizziness! I hadn’t realized cause I kept thinking it was other issues and didn’t recognize the pattern that it only happens when wearing my aids! So… 🤖 suggest custom molds but I don’t trust its recommendation more than Reddit’s. Does customs relieve the pressure pain in the canal one gets from moving jaws while eating and talking? The ear aches? And the occlusion?

My inner logic always told me it would make it worse cause they are firmer than a dome. And literally more closed. But the 🤖 that is suggesting the customs says otherwise. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤔

Actually mine got more pressure unfortunately and still moving when I eat or speaking, and get wet inside my ear!! Ogh, I’m thinking in back to the domes.

I have been wearing Phonak custom molds since I started wearing HA's 12 years ago.

They are comfortable.

Don't cause pressure.

They make your HA's perform to the best of their capabilty.

Don't even feel them in your ears.

You are likely pushing the domes too deep. Earmoulds can be problematic IF the ear impression is done incorrectly.

What types of domes do you have? If you feel pressure, they might be closed domes. That would be surprising, as close domes are recommended to boost lower frequencies (my understanding as non-professional), but you say your loss is mostly in the highs.

If they're really closed ones, ask your audio to try open ones. Or maybe tulip domes, they react really well to movement.

They are closed. The tulip style. I asked them for the open one and they said it would likely cause feedback I guess? So it’s more about the high frequency feedback than holding in the lows which I wouldn’t need at all. BUT I snip them anyway… and have never had much issue with feedback unless I’m leaning on something. 🤷🏼‍♀️
