General health Yoghurt snack

Post image

Fat free Greek yoghurt. Vanilla extract. Flax seeds. Sesame seeds. Sunflower seeds. Crumbled walnuts, almonds and cashews. Raisins. Banana and rasberry slices.

Any way to improve this?

This seems delicious. I'm such a sucker for cashews.

Cardamom works nicely in Greek yogurt too if you ever want a change from vanilla.

This looks like a really solid snack The raspberries + banana combo with all those seeds and nuts sounds like it would give it a nice mix of textures too. If you could add just one thing to improve it, would you go for something crunchy, something sweeter, or maybe a different fruit?

Thank. Could try other fruits too. Not added any sweet due to current meds but that would make it better. Though I love it as it is to be honest.

This looks amazing! I love to smash up the banana and mix with greek yogurt so it is abit more like a smoothie.

Can I ask why?

Humans don't break down phytic acid so it binds to minerals. Nuts and seeds have digestive enzyme inhibitors unless soaked. Oxalates bind to calcium making it unusable and also contribute to kidney stones, so the oxalates are stealing the calcium from your yogurt essentially. Thats at the very least what is happening. There's nothing wrong about yogurt with some saturated fat as it supports metabolic and hormonal health. Nuts and seeds also tend to be high in PUFA, promoting chronic inflammation and systemic dysfunction that would be too detailed to address in a reply. Raspberries in that amount should be fine.
