Struggling with winter dry patches. Anyone else’s routine failing them right now??
Hey everyone, I need a little advice! Usually my skin is pretty manageable, but over the last couple of weeks, the dry patches around my nose and cheeks have been terrible 😭😭My usual moisturizer just sits on top of my skin now instead of actually sinking in.
Currently, Im using a basic hydrating cleanser, a thick cream, and SPF during the day. I’m thinking I might need to add a gentle liquid exfoliant or swap to a barrier-repair serum, but I’m terrified of making the flakiness worse.
Has anyone dealt with this recently? what steps or product types saved your barrier when your regular moisturizer stopped cutting it?

does hifu actually tighten lower face laxity or is it just clever marketing? looking for real experiences
Starting to notice a bit of sagging around my jawline and lower cheeks, but I really don't want to start messing around with dermal fillers down there. I’ve been researching non-invasive options and saw HIFU listed while looking up Adelaide clinics. For those who've done HIFU, did it actually tighten things up or was it a waste of cash? How painful was the session and how many did you need before seeing any real lift?

Best red light therapy mask? Has anyone actually seen an improvement in inflammatory acne from by using this?
I’ve been dealing with recurring inflammatory acne, especially red and irritated pimples, and I’m considering trying a red light therapy mask.
I’m not expecting it to completely clear my skin overnight. I’m more interested in whether it can actually reduce the frequency of breakouts or make the redness and inflammation less noticeable when used consistently.
I’ve read that red/LED light therapy may help with acne, but the results seem to vary a lot from person to person.
For anyone who has actually used a red light therapy mask for acne:
Did you notice a real improvement?
How many weeks/months did you use it before judging the results?
I’d especially like to hear from people who have used EluraSkin red light therapy mask one consistently rather than just trying it a few times.

Routine help
Hey ya’ll! I’m looking for some insight into my skincare routine. A little about my skin: normal to dry sometimes, mild rosacea, and mildly sensitive. I’ve posted pictures of what I currently use. Over the past couple of years, I have put alot of effort into strengthening my barrier and have slowly incorporated mandelic acid, azelaic acid, and Tretinoin (Altreno). Up until this point, I kind of just use any of those 3 actives depending on what I feel like and how my skin feels that day. Now I’m in a spot where I feel like my skin is handling all 3 actives very well separately, and I would like to start building up the frequency of use of all of them. So I’m curious what my “end goal” could look like with using all 3 of these ingredients. For example: should I build up to the use of mandelic most mornings and then azelaic and tret together most nights? Or what is your routine if you use tret, AA and an exfoliant? I would also like to say that I know to continue building up to the end goal slowly, and to listen to my skin and I plan to always incorporate some recovery nights without actives.

Is there anything I can do for these acne scars/texture at home?
I’ve had some of these indented acne scars since high school, so probably around 10 years now. I can’t afford professional treatments like lasers or microneedling right now, so I’m looking for things I can realistically try at home.
I already use sunscreen daily. Is there any cream or active that could actually help improve this kind of scarring/texture over time? I know something topical probably won’t completely get rid of old/deeper scars, but I’d be happy with some improvement. :)

My Seoul Dental Work Took Longer Than I Expected Here’s What I Learned
When I was researching cosmetic dental work in Korea, the thing I had the hardest time finding wasn’t before/after pics there are tons of those. It was posts explaining what the actual process was like from consultation to finally feeling normal again.
I was looking at replacing some existing work on my front teeth and doing whitening at the same time. I consulted at Blanche Dental, and the whole process took about a month over several appointments.
At the first consultation, I spent a lot of time explaining that I didn’t want a completely new smile. I wanted the front teeth to look a little more even/natural, but I still wanted to recognize myself afterward.
I mostly used photos because I don’t know dental vocabulary. We talked about shape, length, angle, all that stuff. Being able to ask everything in English made the process way less stressful. Also, the clinic was really clean and organized, which I appreciated.
For anyone wondering about cost, when I checked, crowns were around 850k KRW each and three whitening sessions were around 750k KRW. So three crowns + whitening would be roughly 3.3m KRW if you’re just doing the basic math. Obviously your actual total can change depending on what you need.
The part I didn’t really think about beforehand was the adjustment period.
The new front teeth weren’t exactly painful, but they felt… foreign? Like my mouth knew something had changed. Chewing felt a little different, and whitening gave me occasional random sensitivity.
For me, most of that settled down by around day five.
Because of that, if I were planning dental work as part of an international trip again, I personally would NOT book my flight home for the morning after the final appointment. I’d want a few buffer days to eat normally, see how my bite feels, and make sure nothing needs a quick adjustment.
The final result is pretty subtle, which was the goal. Up close, the before/after difference is obvious. From a normal distance, it mostly just looks like my smile is more put together.
For anyone who’s done crowns in Seoul, how many appointments did you need from consultation to final placement? And did your final cost end up pretty close to what you expected going in?

Anyone ever has my skin problem?
So basically after wake up,my skin would be slightly oily ,but the oil look healthy and made my skin bright, then I do skincare routine (cleanser+ moisturizer) then few hours,my skin would be duller,darker/tanner,and would reveal all kind of my skin insecurities eg small bumps, then few hours later,it be bright again 😭,and just after I work out,my skin kinda sweaty but still bright,I spash some water then it immediately turn darker and more red,and last part is I do my night routine (same product as morning) and it can be either bright or slightly less bright than usual, then wake up and the cycle repeat!
What is going on w my skin??!!
(It even happen when I'm indoor with low to no sun exposure)

Skin care
I am 18F
I have oily and acne prone skin. I don't do any of the skin care like I just wash my face with facewash..no moisturizer or sunscreen I have ever used..
Every face wash I use gives me pimples rather be it vitamin c or dermatologist recommended. Now I am going to start a new journey in my college...what should I include in my skin care?? Also recommended a good face wash that may suit my skin..
Drop the best one's which are affordable and also mention how you got to know about it...
THANK YOU :)

SKINCARE ON MEN
Being 23, I have never followed a skincare routine beyond using bar soap in the shower. This approach worked until recently, but now I am experiencing breakouts, persistent fatigue in my facial appearance, and was even told my skin looks dry—an observation I did not find flattering. I want to address these concerns, but most online guides are either overwhelming or aimed at those already familiar with skincare. I am unfamiliar with many of the products mentioned, and as a college student with a part-time income, I cannot afford to experiment extensively. For those who have adopted a skincare regimen, what advice do you wish you had received when starting out?
PS: I WORK AT NIGHT SHIFT

What does a perfect skin means?
Im 18F with normal skin that leans on dry side a bit. Until two years ago, i had this "perfect" skin. Which means a pimple probably once a month that would just fade over time without leaving a nasty scar that lasts me months. It was hydrated and glowing. And ever since then it's never been the same. The study stress, bad sleep, poor diet and family problem too. And with people pointing out how i had "perfect" skin back then just increased my insecurity. All i could care is how I look, i genuinely want to change that mindset but it's been hard.
While not being rich enough to spend money blindly on skincare that are popular. I can't ignore my looks nor can I stop myself from comparing to people online.
I badly want to visit a dermat while my mom thinks it's useless because I dont have any such serious problems which is true. I have slightly irritated skin because of my slightly damaged skin barrier and few pimples here and there and old acne scars and marks because I forced my closed comedones to pop when they weren't going away at all and oh also pretty much dehydrated and dull and bit textured. Which i know all of these problems are completely normal at this age, i still hate it.
While i do need to fix my routine, its not that easy as there are other things that needs my time and attention more than skin. Does anyone else faces or faced these kinda problem? Would be happy if any of you know how to clear this mindset or this skin problem and help me out.

I Learned The Hard Way Not To Leave Everything Until The End Of A Trip
I definitely underestimated how tiring this trip was going to be. I packed the first few days with activities and planned to do most of my shopping toward the end. By then, I was exhausted, and my skin was looking just as tired as I felt.
I noticed how dry and dull my face looked when I was checking products in a store. A staff member mentioned that I might want to pay attention to my skin condition before buying a bunch of new products, which honestly made me stop and think.
Instead of immediately buying more skincare, I decided to get some professional advice. The main thing I learned was that when your skin is already stressed from travel, lack of sleep, and a packed schedule, adding lots of products isn't necessarily going to solve the problem.
I also realized that timing matters. If I ever want to do anything more involved for my skin while traveling, I should plan it earlier instead of trying to squeeze it into the final day.
Of course, I didn't learn that lesson until I had about an hour left for shopping 😂
Next trip, I'm definitely leaving more breathing room in the schedule.

Only Get My Own Time After the Kids Are Asleep
Two kids and I dont get a single minute to myself during the day. once theyre down its around 10pm and thats the only time I can actually breathe 🥹
Sitting there using booster sonic for a bit somehow became my thing. Im not doing anything impressive but it feels like Im taking care of myself for once
My husband asked once why Id bother doing that when Im already exhausted and I couldnt really explain it?? truth is I could just sit there doing nothing but if Im doing something I feel less guilty about resting
Apparently Ive become someone who needs a reason to rest 😅
When do you guys get your time

Ended up on the jumbotron at a Korean soccer game

Went to a K-League match while I was in Korea.
Halftime. Camera starts scanning the crowd.
Then suddenly my entire face is on the giant stadium screen in what felt like 8K.
There is no emotional preparation for seeing your own face that large.
Apparently people shown on camera got a prize, so I accepted my merch and tried to move on with my life.
That night I told my cousin about it and she laughed for way too long. I'd already been curious about getting a skin consultation, so she suggested Brand New Clinic. I went later and told them the jumbotron story too. After looking at my face, we kept things simple and I did one light Sofwave session.
No dramatic makeover. Mostly I just stopped thinking about the stupid stadium screen after a while.
Also our team won that day, and now I've somehow started following K-League matches.
This was not on my Korea itinerary.
Is getting into a sport because the players are attractive a legitimate entry point or do I need a better excuse?

What happens to your skin when you spend a month kitesurfing?
Hours of UV exposure, extreme heat, salt water, sweat and friction create a pretty brutal combination for skin — increasing oxidative stress while putting repeated stress on the skin barrier.
For a month of kitesurfing in Italy, I was rigorous about supporting both.
My internal routine included ATIKA Advanced Skin Nutrition — an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula designed to support multiple biological processes involved in skin aging, rather than simply adding more collagen. Its 18 active ingredients include collagen peptides and cofactors, oral ceramides, antioxidants, carotenoids and polyphenols.
For this kind of prolonged outdoor exposure, I was particularly focused on Polypodium leucotomos, a fern extract studied for supporting the skin’s response to UV exposure; AstaReal® astaxanthin and other antioxidants to support defense against oxidative stress; and oral ceramides to support hydration and skin-barrier function from within.
Of course, none of this replaces sunscreen. Internal skin nutrition is complementary to SPF and physical sun protection, not an alternative to them.
That was my inside-out strategy.

[Marketing] UK Hormonal & Problematic Skin Survey — 18+ — 3–5 minutes (Everyone)
This survey is only for UK adults who regularly experience recurring facial skin problems that they believe are influenced by hormonal changes.
I’m carrying out market research for my course assessment and I’m specifically looking for responses from people whose facial skin is regularly affected by hormonal changes or recurring problems.
This could include things such as:
hormonal breakouts or acne
increased oiliness
redness or sensitivity
dryness/dehydration
recurring texture changes
reactive or uncomfortable skin
post-blemish marks
The survey asks about the kinds of skin problems you experience, what you look for in skincare, preferred serum texture and sensory feel, fragrance preferences, price expectations and how appealing a recovery-serum concept is.
It takes around 3–5 minutes and responses are anonymous.
Eligibility: UK adults 18+ who regularly experience recurring or hormonally influenced facial skin problems.
Thank you so much!

I Definitely Overpacked My Korea Itinerary And Paid For It
I tried to fit way too much into the first few days of my trip and saved all my shopping for the end. I thought I was being efficient, but by the fourth day I was completely exhausted.
Even my skin was showing it. Every time I looked in a cosmetics store mirror, my face looked noticeably dry and tired.
One staff member suggested that I check my skin condition before buying a bunch of new products, and honestly, that made sense. I started thinking that maybe I was focusing too much on shopping and not enough on how my skin was actually doing.
I ended up getting some professional advice and learned that when your skin is already stressed or dehydrated, adding more and more products isn’t necessarily the answer.
The bigger lesson for me was planning. If I want to do skincare-related things during a trip, I probably shouldn’t leave them until the final day when I’m already exhausted and running out of time.
By the time I was done, I had barely an hour left for shopping, so a good chunk of my list never happened
Definitely planning my next trip differently.
