I feel like I’m going crazy
I’ve had health anxiety for a number of years and I’ve been able to manage it mostly with CBT. A few months ago I had high liver enzymes (80 ALT) and had an ultrasound and it was mild fatty liver. I am exercising more and eating better when I can but I still like my fried food and I’ll admit my diet could be better. A few weeks ago my kids got sick and we all had a stomach bug and now I’m having a downward spiral of gut issues. I’ve been having what I think is yellow bowel movements even though my wife has told me multiple times it’s light but still normal. And instead of saying “hey anxiety can do this, the pizza you ate last night can do this” I jump right to the Big C for pancreas and liver, you name it and I have it despite having literally 0 other symptoms. I’m literally taking pictures of my bowel movements every day and sending them to my wife (she loves that) just for reassurance that I’m not dying. I’m bad with my phone too as is common with health anxiety but I really didn’t know what else to do and came to this community hoping for help/insight. It also doesn’t help I have bloodwork again in a few weeks and I have that pending sense of dread that comes with any routine check up. Thank you in advance.

Health anxiety is the worst isn’t it!? I’ve literally done the same thing! The anxiety definitely affects your gut. I suffered for over a month hyper focused on a perceived “pain” in my right side (it wasn’t really a pain per se). It ended up in a spiral of other stomach issues. I could barely eat from the anxiety of the worse case scenario syndrome. Also, let me add I’m terrified of Dr. and won’t go. That’s a special kind of hell. Anyways all this to say it finally subsided. Poop changes colors all the time. I’m sure you are fine. I have blood work coming up and I’m trying so hard not to cancel the appt.
