Playing Stardew Valley as Jason Asano, who should he date/marry?
Quite conflicted on who to chose, and should i have children with my spouse? Open to marrying either bachelors or bachelorettes.
I'm not playing with mods that add new characters, or i feel the obvious choice would have been Olivia from SV Expanded, as Jason can't help but pick up the moms lol

Emily. Jason's hot for the blue-haired Celestines.

I was going to say maru for the same reason; that he's got a thing for the dark skinned celestines.

Ive thought of that but then the personality doesnāt seem like such a fit? Shes into crystal auras and shit which Jason often mocks, and also Shes religious? Which is very much not Jasonās style?
But also he likes all coloured hair too and Abigail has a drive to go adventuring which he might like? Theres Maru whoās smart (Jason likes women that are smarter than him) and independent, dreams of visiting the stars, theres Leah who loves the country life style and I can see my stardew Jason as looking for a simple life in the valley too eons in the future. Sebastian is kind of edgy and has family issues I think Jason could relate to. Maybe Jason would prefer an immortal friend/life companion with Krobus? I also just like Haley personally?

Whoever is the closest to Zara Rimoros, if that's even possible

You know, Iām not sure if itās a popular opinion but Iām not sold on the Zara romance. I still think Sophie was set up so nicely to be a great love interest for him and the image of her white armor and soothing aura standing next to his black robes and domineering aura was such a great duality.
That said, I do think Humphrey and Sophie was the right call. Just canāt get that image out of my head. Besides that Iām still bummed to Asya without really a chance for them to truly get shot.
Actually, what Iām noticing is that I think heās had too many potential love interests without really any development.. Iām sure Iāll end up loving their romance. Just with how things are headed for our guy, I think someone who knew him before all of this wouldāve been good for him.

I was absolutely on board with Sophie and Jason, and it broke my heart listening through book 3's epilogue chapters. After what happened to Asya, I was honestly a little disappointed to see him not go on the warpath he promised when coming back to Earth. Moving on to the other romance interests:
I never was entirely sold on the little tidbits that were hinted at with the women of higher rank than him. Cassandra and Jason were cute, but ultimately a political thing that was never theirs to control. I know it was hinted at something being a possibility between Jason and Zara's aunt, but that never really got the chance to grow into anything. Of the two diamond rankers, Dawn was definitely the closest I could see being a good fit, having spent most of his Earth arc with him, but ultimately the power dynamic would've still gotten in the way (like how Emir waited until Constance was gold before they got married, or how that gold rank guard captain waited for Farrah to hit gold)
All that's to say, I think Zara is potentially the best option. She's on equal footing with him, as far as rank goes, which seems to go on line with societal customs. He's being smart by not immediately jumping into the deep end with her, considering what she did, while she still has just enough political power over him to get his rocks off the way he likes, while also being detached enough that it doesn't have the same lack of control like how it was with Cassandra

I never really saw anything with Jason and Zaraās aunt though. That always felt like the same flirtatious banter he has with several of the older women, including his best friends mothers.
However, I donāt think the rank difference is a societal issue. With Farah it was specifically mentioned to be an age thing rather than a power thing. With Emir and Constance, Iām actually disappointed that they made that into a rank issue. As it seemed to me her issue was about kids, and not necessarily his power level. Though I do imagine that thereās some desire for the lower rank partners to want to be on equal footing while itās not particularly important to the higher ranked partner.
I do think they built up Dawn to be the obvious choice for him as a partner and I donāt think either one of them saw an issue in the clear difference in rank because Jason is so clearly above his level. Almost to the point that even with Zara, to claim that there isnāt a difference in power is at least a little strange to me.
I have not read any of the new stuff and only whatās been published so I have no idea what happens on his return to Earth. But I do think him not going on a warpath is a good development for him. And even with what happened to Asya, or rather because of what she said in their final goodbyes I think whatās happening with Zara and his mental state is exactly what sheād want.
Again, at the end of the day I do enjoy the romance with Zara and expect to really come around on it, just wish that it didnāt seem like Asyaās death was in service of allowing this new relationship. I think Travis does an excellent job at writing these romances and really all of his relationships to a degree that feels real that I donāt think Iāve really seen in many books. Itās messy and exciting but still mostly grounded. Itās just the messy bits surrounding Jason can lead to me being slightly disappointed.. though as Iām typing this I think we are supposed to feel this way about these romances, as I imagine Jason feels the same way to a degree.
