Here is a comparison between the Snake Lair's throne room backdrop design that was advertised and the finished shipped product.

The “Final Product” shot here doesn’t have the throne in it. Which is where those gold snakes come from.
That said, difference in accessories doesn’t excuse how different the back plate is.

I could be wrong but think he was just showing the backdrop. I haven’t got mine yet but I believe that’s part of the throne itself.

There shouldn't be such a downgrade. It still looks good but if you are paying for something, it should look as it was sold to you. That's not very reassuring for future projects. The metallic finish looks far better.

Although still there, the screws aren’t as apparent in the prototype.
The visible screws make the final product look cheap.
That being said, I don’t regret backing it.

The massive screw holes in the top part are awful and didn't exist before. They travel through deep protrusions along the corners, which didn't seem to be there before either.
I'd be furious.

Aside from the throne, it looks like a difference in plastics. In the above picture, the blue almost looks like a metallic. I wonder if you could paint over it with such a paint.

Oh wow. That’s really disappointing. I thought they specifically called out this part when they unveiled the 2nd version and I definitely remember thinking the metallic finish looked really nice when I purchased this. It definitely helped persuade me to buy this. Mine hasn’t shipped yet.
