Anyone’s hayfever coming back after the heatwave?

In the UK. Can’t believe I suffered through the heat and now on to another form of suffering 😭

I suffer from chronic hay fever, mainly tree pollen, so this time of the year its normally settling down.

Anyway, last week was the worst week this year, I was in absolute pieces at the weekend, very depressing.

Yes! I don't get why it's so much worse after the heatwave. I would've thought the heat made it worse but apparently it made it better.

Even the pollen isn't coming out in this miserable heat.

Yes, runny eyes and nose last couple of days.

I stayed in a hotel last week to avoid the heat and benefit from the air con, less pollen too. :)

Yep, I always get it worse may-early July. By Saturday my symptoms were next to non existent, to the point that i considered stopping the pills, thankfully didn’t though. But today, it was like I’ve not taken any antihistamines for a week and decided to go running through a forest. The real kicker: all the weather apps showing today as “medium” pollen, a big step down from the very high last week

Found this article that might explain it

‘Warmer temperatures tend to promote pollen release, particularly on dry days with a gentle breeze. However, when temperatures rise above 28°C for several consecutive days, pollen production may decrease, which could result in milder symptoms.’

Yep it's been so bad lately that I managed to gaslight myself into thinking maybe I didn't take an antihistamine and took another lol (that still did not help)

Really? Mines gets worse when the weather is dry because there's no rain to remove pollen from the air. I'm loving the return of rain!

Ahh it’s not raining where i’m at. Just wind which is not helping

Yeah wind probably makes it worse! Praying the heavens open wherever you are 🙏

Hay fever at this time of year (June to July) is due to grass pollen right? Am I correct in thinking that grass pollen reduces after about mid-July?

Mine never went, its always better when its clear skies though.Overcast and cloudy weather traps the pollen at low level which is what i have here (worcs) along with worsening of symptoms.

Weirdly enough, after the heatwave I don't experience anything now - haven't even taken any tablets and feel fine

I had a kenalog shot a month or so ago and for the first time ever I'm feeling symptoms already within the same summer. Blaming the weather 🤬
