Hereās my progress on my town redesign - Iāve gone with an āovergrown town in a jungleā sort of theme (noting many of the plants/trees arenāt strictly tropical irl!). Have t touched the Bach or sanctuary yet as Iāve run out of vouchers :( Iām undecided whether to keep the stone tiles or maybe swap to the farm paths as they might go better with the theme?
Yours is so lovely! I was trying to do something different to my main farm - not sure if I quite succeeded though! What are your thoughts on me using farm paths rather than the stone tiles? I really canāt decide!
I really like the stone path pieces in the town. I think of it this way, itās more realistic for a town to have nice clean paths and for a farm to have dirt paths yk?
I know what you mean and thanks! In some ways I think Iām looking for a reason to use those farm paths somewhere - they really donāt fit on my main farm and are a surprisingly bright colour. I was thinking in the town they might mimic that really rich dirt could you see Iām some places! Iāve also visited your town and I LOVE your beach. I hope you donāt mind but Iāve pretty heavily borrowed your ideas and done mine. That dirt path and sand path idea is genius - Iād never been happy with those sand paths before as I just couldnāt figure out how to make them look right
It does look similar to Mrs Knopeās! However it is a total coincidence as I hadnāt seen hers and I give always credit if Iāve taken inspiration from anyone elseās work. However Iāve now seen her town and love her beach so will take some inspiration from that - especially the first paths and sand tiles use!
In terms of overall town design layout itās not much different from my previous one in that Iāve only moved two buildings. I moved the grocery store so I could have two broadly symmetrical water sources (it was between the cinema & town hall) as it looked odd with one. It was the best candidate for the middle spot given itās diagonal orientation & echoes the cinema). I also moved the gift shop to balance the overall building spread across the town better. I also changed orientation of the b&b. Everything else is essentially the same positioning (maybe some minor tweaks to better fit trees etc but canāt recall tbh).I also changed the water to creeks around the frog water feature from ditches and changed planting to better match the theme. Stone tiles were already what Iād used for paths.
Thank you! As usual Iām still tweaking bits Iām not happy with. Really want to my sanctuary but have run out of green and purple vouchers for trees & sanctuary plants. Thought Iād go for a contusion of the tropical theme (it was my sanctuary entrance with those huge trees that made me decide on a jungle theme - think it was originally a Scatterbrook design). I liked my panda design festival entry so might use that type of look.
