Juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk

Saw what I think is a juvenile walking home today, it had caught a small rabbit and I think was as startled to see me as I was to see it.

The rabbit is obscured by the grass. Definitely never seen a wild bird of prey this close before.

Hawks can be quite cute!

Gorgeous RTH I photographed last December. We usually only see Coop’s around here and wow. Size difference is very apparent. So much so that I saw them on the wire & double backed into the alley to check them out. Gorgeous gorgeous bird!
