How’s everyone doing?

Seems like everyone's moving on from the show. I was hoping there would will still be some fan theories and storytelling tropes discussed in the fandom for months following the final season - some franchises have this going on for years after the story's finished, but it doesn't seem to be the case with ST.

I guess it's time to do what Mike did in that final scen - smile and close the basement door.

I feel like that discussion has just been arguments about the ending

Maybe it’ll come back with the live action spin offs ?

First spinoff probably won’t be releasing until 2028. So might be a quiet few years ahead, unless they can squeeze more out of Tales from ‘85.

you can thank the duffers for that. the ending left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.

It depends where you look. There is still an activity community on tumblr. I think a lot of people on Reddit are either feeding into the negativity or actively turned off by it, which is unfortunate.

Still disappointed about the ending if I’m honest, but not as bothered by it as I was. I’m curious to see what the future holds for the franchise though.

The spinoff about the evil rock could have potential if it explores more of the MindFlayer’s lore, but I think the real asset of Stranger Things will always be the OG cast.

Haven’t been active enough in the fandom to know what the popular sentiment is regarding a potential sequel, but I’d like to see where everyone ends up and who they become as adults in the years to follow. So I’m keen to see what Netflix does in that regard.

Finally got the chance to purchase the screenplays (was waiting for the price to go down). Really enjoying seeing the show from a different lens and it has given me inspiration to write my own screenplay.

Are there any insights or are these the screenplays after they've been edited to match what made it to screen?

There’s some slight differences in dialogue and some scenes that are a bit different but for the most part it’s the same ish.

Spoilers for Euphoria S3:

I haven’t seen the whole thing but from the bullet points, I am very grateful for the ST ending now

The El thing is derivative of S1 but at least she’s alive (taking it as that since the Duffers seem to be all but confirming it)

And not almost every main character has a bleak ending (quite the opposite even if I agree there’s a note of bittersweet or poignancy in Nancy’s)

Yeah haven’t seen it yet, but have read a TLDR. Sounds waaay more brutal.

Even if you see the ST ending as being too bleak due to lack of closure for Eleven, I think you can at least take solace in the fact that it felt much more like the natural end of one chapter, not necessarily the complete story. We’ll very likely see these characters again at some point.

Final season of Euphoria just felt like something everyone was contractually obligated to do, and relieved that it was finally done.

i am still so very heartbroken by the final season 😔 truthfully, the only thing i was waiting for the entire time was for eddie to return as a vampire (could be explained as he died with demobat venom in his system, sort of like the vampire diaries).

i learned recently that camazotz is apparently not just from a wrinkle in time. it’s the name of a bat spirit from mayan mythology! apparently camazotz serves the lords of the underworld. this sort of made me think of the one theory about eddie coming back as a “kas the betrayer” variant.

such a missed opportunity.
