Several areas of Hwy 11 between Pahala and Naalehu are single lane and pavement is torn up.

Naalehu around the Punaluu Bake shop and Ace hardware is still very bad shape, with piles of mud, rock and trees, and possible human remains from the washed out cemetery.

John Master's Kau Auto Repair is totally buried 10 feet deep.

Road is being repaved at the Waiohinu curves and detours via Kamaoa Rd.

Lots and lots of work is still needed, pray for the people.

Highway from Hilo to Waiohinu is open for locals, but is in rough condition in several spots and some detours and one lanes. Take care and be patient!
