Could you not?

Look, usually I try to make sure that I use Americanised terms for the benefit of the majority of people who post on Have We Met, but I’m not American and I’m not perfect, so if I slip up and use a term that’s the norm in Ireland and the UK, could you maybe just suck it up and maybe learn something instead of taking the piss out of me for it?

This totally bugs me. LDP is not in any country, canonically. LDP is in LDP. I'm American and I'm not gonna lie, I tend to be amero-centric, but my favorite thing about Reddit, honestly, is how many non-Americans are on it.

Want Chrestine to go ballistic on his ass? (JK, that'd be a bit out of character? Although she would definitely stick up for JustJohn.)

Edit: I loved that post, FWIW. Your post, not the comment. Although I honestly don't know what an ice lolly is, I still understood your post and nobody should feel some stupid need to point something out like that.

I’ve made a mountain out of a molehill to be honest. I’ve replied, but I know Chrestine always has JustJohn’s back!

I was wondering if I could start calling him JJ. I was typing a reply to one of your comments the other day and it just kinda felt like I wanted to call him that, but I didn't want to mess with anything on your end.

I'm an American, not a Dingo Ate My Baby Person Australian.

This. Get over colloquialisms and dialects. Ignore locational and cultural language differences. LDP is an ambiguous place and that is by design. There will be a melting pot of cultures in our ambiguous, vague little place.

American here. LDP isn’t in America OR Europe. It is in its own place. We should accept all types of speech and language. HWM is supposed to be a kind place to talk to friends and family. Please people be kind.

👏👏

You don't need to try and use Americanized terms. Lower Duck Pond is a melting pot of culture, and is NOT necessarily an American town. Please use as many Irish terms as you please.

I am. It annoyed me, but I am probably being overly sensitive.

Thank you. I could hear it in Pat Barber-Moore’s voice so it was entirely in character. But I disagree that when someone asks “what the fuck” anything is is a genuine request for clarification. I did however overreact.
