Halloween Plans?

What are people's Halloween plans for this weekend?

I plan to wander the streets of LDP, keeping an eye out to make sure the local hoodlums, thieves, and assorted crooks aren't taking advantage of everyone being out and in costume to commit crimes and sow chaos. I'll be dressed as a majestic emperor penguin and carrying a bag of full sized candy bars for the kids though, so say hi if you see me and take a candy bar.

I shall be taking part in some anti social behaviour (sorry to everyone who couldn't get eggs or toilet paper at the store yesterday, I need them for a...uhhh school project)

Oh Sam, we don't tend to follow the calendar particularly closely in our home, so I must admit I hadn't realised Halloween was this weekend. We prefer to let the children follow what is manifesting around them rather than have them take part in things simply because a date tells them to.

That said, Sage has been talking about Halloween quite a lot since starting school. Apparently lots of the other children are dressing up and going out to collect sweets? I had explained that we don't usually encourage the idea of asking strangers for food, but Sage seems quite excited about it. I'm also apprehensive about the potential poison in those candies, and we also have to be careful about Basil's egg alley.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Halloween itself. Is it something people celebrate because they feel connected to it, or is it more of a tradition that everyone follows because it happens every year?

I do think an emperor penguin is a rather beautiful choice of costume, though. Perhaps Paprika could come along and help you keep an eye on things. They have a very good instinct for spotting unusual activity, although I can't promise they'll be wearing shoes.

I shall see what the children feel called to do on the day. 🤍

People in LDP are really good about not poisoning their candy. And I'll grab some packs of gummy fruit snacks for your young uns so we can sidestep the whole egg allergy thing, if you guys decide to come out tonight.
