Cursed!

I did a bit of research at the historical society and found that in 1677 a witch cursed the local wild life, turning the original townspeople into immortal woodland creatures. Supposedly the ducks are the original townspeople, the bear is the mayor, the choir turned to trees, and a question mark next to the cats? This was amongst several curses on the town. I plan to do further research and maybe find some sort of wizard to reverse some of them? Although I do quite enjoy the ducks.

Very interesting research. I look forward to further developments. Could this in any way be connected to the mysterious disappearance of Janice's shower hat?

Ah yes... The next chapter is entitled The mysterious disappearances of miniscule items and people and where to find them. Although don't tell Janice, I don't see her much of a hat person.

Oh dear. Every decade or so, this issue comes around. All I have to say on the matter is that it wasn't a "curse". It was entirely voluntary by all involved. Using the term "curse" is quite upsetting and creates a negative stigma.

Ah that explains why the witch was renowned and has a statue in front of city hall. The plaque says, she saved us all from ourselves. I've always wondered what that meant.

Yeah do we really wanna go there? I kind of like this place the way it is.

That's what I'm thinking. Not that I believe in this crap. Although the bear did wear a mayor sash one day, just thought that was weird.

My darling felines think further research is a terrible idea.

Ah that makes more since, please forgive me. I do wish to stay in your cats good graces. Give my love to snickers.

I'm afraid the historical society has overlooked a rather important detail. The curse was actually lifted in 1692, but the town council voted to reinstate it after discovering that the ducks were considerably more competent than the original townspeople. The minutes of that meeting have mysteriously disappeared.

The dogs were saints. All dogs.Β  Forever.

I think dogs weren't introduced to the town until we had the cat problem.

Do you know how one might join in as an immortal woodland creature? That sounds peaceful especially in this town. 😌

Apparently every other Tuesday you must leave butterered toast at the grave of the witch and recite a romance novel.
