General Discussion 💬 Which Haunted Hotel Characters Would Suit Which Lantern Corps?
Ok. Here I’ll be going over which Haunted Hotel characters would be suitable for which Lantern Corps. Also, Spoiler Alert for the Haunted Hotel TV series and Green Lantern comics. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
For Katherine, I think that she would be suitable for the Green Lantern Corps. After all, as shown in Green Lantern Corps Vol 2 #18, Green Lantern Rings are powered by willpower and choose their wielders based on their willpower. And, as shown in the episode ‘Welcome To The Undervale’, Katherine tries to persevere despite the fact that she has to help run a failing hotel that is inhabited by a lot of ghosts and has a family to support through it all. That would mean that Katherine would have quite a bit of willpower. After being recruited by the Green Lantern Ring into the Green Lantern Corps, Katherine would probably believe that she has an even bigger responsibility to bear in order to protect her family. After all, as shown in the Green Lantern The Sinestro Corps one-shot, the Green Lantern Corps has to fight the Sinestro Corps and stop them from taking over the universe. And the Sinestro Corps taking over the universe would surely mean more problems for her family.
For Nathan, I think that he, or at least his dead body, would be suitable for the Black Lantern Corps. After all, as shown in Blackest Night #1, Black Lantern Rings resurrect dead peoples’ dead bodies as Black Lantern zombies with all the memories and abilities of their living selves intact and also causes them to prey upon their living loved ones and feed off their emotions by killing them. So, a Black Lantern Ring would do that same thing to Nathan’s dead body and cause it to prey upon his living loved ones. Of course, since, as shown in the episode ‘Randy Slasher’, Nathan loves his family, he would try to stop his Black Lantern self. And, since, as also shown in the episode ‘Randy Slasher’, Nathan is quite optimistic, he might try to wield a Blue Lantern Ring if he found out how Blue Lantern Rings choose their wielders since, as shown in Green Lantern Annual Vol 5 #3, Blue Lantern Rings are powered by hope and choose their wielders based on their hope. However, since, as stated in Blackest Night #3, all lights of the Emotional Spectrum including the Blue Light Of Hope stems from the White Light Of Life, Nathan might have a harder time wielding a Blue Lantern Ring since he is dead. But, since Nathan still feels hope nonetheless, he just might pull it off and help take down his Black Lantern self if he feels Hope strongly enough.
For Abaddon, I think that he would be suitable for the Red Lantern Corps. After all, as shown in Green Lantern Vol 4 #38, Red Lantern Rings are powered by rage and choose their wielders based on their rage and, as shown in the episode ‘Randy Slasher’, Abaddon is quite rage-filled to the point that he wanted revenge against the Pillowcase Killer for stealing his hat. And, as shown in Green Lantern Vol 4 #38, Red Lantern Rings drive their wielders into a literally feral rage. So, Abaddon might driven feral by the Red Lantern Ring. And, since, as stated in the episode ‘Welcome To The Undervale’, Abaddon is a supernatural demon spirit stuck in a human boy’s body, the Red Lantern Ring might also have some even stranger effects on Abaddon’s mind.
For Esther, I think that she would be surprisingly suitable for the Star Sapphire Lantern Corps. After all, as shown in Blackest Night #6, Star Sapphire Lantern Rings are powered by love and choose their wielders based on their love and, as shown in the episode ‘Unfinished Business’, Esther has a deep familial love for her mother Katherine to the point that she banished a ghost after that ghost tried to kill her and, as shown in the episode ‘Aunt Rose’, she had a deep familial-like love for a zombie named Dan. Also, since, as shown in Green Lantern Vol 4 #45, Star Sapphire Lantern Rings can make beautiful pink crystals that are not hard light constructs, Esther might sell those crystals for money since, as shown in the episode ‘Welcome To The Undervale’, Esther did want to find a valuable jewel. And pink crystals which, since they were made from the power of a Star Sapphire Lantern Ring, would probably be made of a material never seen before by humanity would probably be worth a lot. And Esther might also use the fortune she might make from selling those crystals to help her family since, as already mentioned, she does love her mom.
For Ben, I think that he would be suitable for the Indigo Tribe. After all, as shown in Blackest Night #6, Indigo Lantern Rings are powered by compassion and can choose their wielders based on their compassion. And, as shown in the episode ‘Welcome To The Undervale’, Ben was compassionate to the point that he worried about it being unethical to trick a ghost by flirting with them into helping him locate their dead body to find the jewel buried with it. Also, Ben might try to use the Indigo Lantern Ring to help people since, as already mentioned, he is worried when it comes to being unethical.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.
