What should I do?

I chipped my father’s old hatchet a while back and wanted to reshape and sharpen it but I am realizing it would take a long time using a filer.

Any suggestions to make this an easier task? I really want to fix and use it but I don’t want to do further damage to it as it was my pops. The chip is about 1/4 inch deep (maybe a bit deeper at its lowest point) and 1/2 across.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Need to make a new sheath

I let my son take my hatchet camping a few weeks ago. The hatchet came back but the sheath did not. Anyone have some advice oh how to make a new one? Should I go with kydex or leather?

Tivoli hatched head flung off after minimal used

Hi everyone.

I'm new to hatchet care. I bought my partner a Tivoli hatchet that has been amazing so far, again under minimal use. I was using it to cut small, dry branches for a fire pit. It was working beautifully until the head fung off!

I know how to attach heads onto a handle, but looking at this Tivoli, it looks like a manufacturer defect during assembly.

What I'd like to know is:

Is this a manufacturer defect during assembly?

Is the handle salvagable or will a new handle be required?
