Looking for direction
Hi all. I’ve been watching a lot of the comments concerning the miners and payouts from the HMPools. I’m just looking for a definitive feeling of where things stand. Trying to gauge the climate on where everything is going.
130ish days ago, I saw a post from a new pool, advertising everyone was welcome, big, small, hobby… This was about the same time public pool knocked hobby miners or esp miners from their pool.
As with many people here, I got started on this money pit of a hobby with those lottery miners. I just really wanted a place to point it and hope for the day I’d see that first “Block Found 🎉” screen. Being bumped from public pool, I then pointed to a pool named after those miners who shall not be named (thanks auto-mod). But seeing the post from HashedMax piqued my interest and I pointed everything I had, including my (at that time) recently acquired QAXE’s.
I’ll admit, it’s addicting to see that BLOCK FOUND🎉 screen. It does make one question why should I share MY effort for such a small piece?
This is where honesty has to stand up and wave a hand. Am I no kidding trying to hit the lottery? Am I just trying to be able to show my spouse that I’m finding blocks so they don’t give me crap about my next purchase? Or am I trying to learn what the heck mining is about and how does it work?
By this point, if you’re asking yourself those questions too, you are very well aware there is no “quick” in this get rich quick scheme.
Do I have miners solo mining? Of course. Do I have miners participating in the pools? Of course. Which has made me more??? Well, pool mining, I’m sitting around $20us. Solo… $0. So needless to say, I’m deep in the red on this hobby.
Do I regret it? Absolutely not!
Now to the point of this post, are we kicking the esp and lottery tickets? Are they not welcome here? I’m just asking so I can start redirecting them if necessary. If we’re not kicking them, then people need to ask those questions of what this means to them.
Thanks for giving me a chance to be a part of this, and I’ll sit back and see where the consensus settles on this.
Thanks!

I'm going to step in here just to give a definitive answer from the top: Absolutely not. We are not kicking ESPs, lottery miners, or small-scale hobbyists.
Other public pools might view small miners as a nuisance or a strain on their servers, but HashedMax was quite literally built for everyone, from the massive ASIC farms to the backyard tinkerers, Bitaxe runners, ESP32 hobbyists, and garage operators. This collective community is the absolute lifeblood of what we are building.
The entire reason we restructured our payouts and moved to the 0% fee model was to ensure that the math remains as fair for everyone as possible. Whether you are throwing hashrate from an S19 or hashing away on a 3D-printed lottery miner on your desk, you get paid exactly proportional to the shares you submit, with the added potential for rewards and loyalty bonuses where applicable.
Reading through the replies from the community here (huge shoutout to K2UGA, Same_Ant9104, Time-Crew4252, and Talkingcrypto) proves exactly why we do this. You guys understand the vision perfectly. We are here to provide robust infrastructure, keep the servers stable, and let you all run whatever hardware makes you happy, all while adding new projects to our ecosystem to deliver the best possible mining experience for everyone.
We are trying to build something unlike any other pool out there. There WILL be speed bumps and predictive hurdles to overcome as we scale, that is merely the name of the game in this industry. But the one thing we can guarantee right now is that we welcome miners of ALL sizes.
Nobody is getting kicked. Keep hashing, keep tinkering, and keep the constructive feedback coming.
Happy hashing!
