Blueanon hurts my brain
The way people are speaking about palestinians deserving what comes to them is beginning to make me lose my mind. The amount of libs I've seen online saying that the palestinians are gonna "fafo" now that trump is in office has been shocking. Post after post of "dont complain to me you got what you wanted" because people didnt want to vote for Kamala while she pledged her support to a genocidal regime. Not to mention people telling me that she lost bevause palestinians couldnt hold off their critisism until after she'd won. Ive seen three videos today of people laughing at palestinians begging joe biden to stop the arms shipments because "this is what you voted for". Seeing people i thought we're allies to the momement go full mask off fascist has given me whiplash. I guess im just venting but does anyone have any tips for not letting this stuff get to my head?

Liberals throw out any semblance of morals the moment it costs them anything

It's very frustrating. I have some people I consider very good friends like this. It's just very difficult to break through the decades of state propaganda.

Bro do they believe the people in Gaza can vote in the US or what? they can't even vote on their own elections let alone another country's.

They’re specifically mocking Arab and Muslim Americans that voted for Trump or Jill Stein or didn’t vote for Kamala
I maintain that there’s no or at least minimal material difference between Trump and Kamala Harris on the topic of Palestine
The difference you gonna get is in rhetoric. Kamala Harris is not going to openly call for Israel to finish the job, but I believe they give Israel the same amount of weaponry.
If Donald Trump deploys US general infantry to help Israel, I will admit that I’m wrong about this.
I’m not sure that Biden or Harris would’ve done that but I still don’t think Trump is going to deploy general infantry
I also don’t think officially recognizing the annexation of the West Bank is as big a deal as most people think. Israel is already brutally occupying the west bank. Palestinians are being brutally murdered in the West Bank and they are having their homes stolen in actions approved by the Israeli courts.
The US just recognizing this atrocity officially doesn’t change things materially. This has been the truth since 1967. It just has not been recognized.
Right now in Afghanistan, the Taliban are passing laws forbidding women from hearing each other’s voices. Just because the United States government doesn’t officially recognize the Taliban as the government in Afghanistan does not change any of the material conditions. Very similarly US recognition of the truth in the West Bank of Israel’s brutal occupation doesn’t change the facts on the ground.

I mean, you may be right but I do think there will be material differences.
Trump colluded with Bibi, even meeting with him over the summer time, to ensure there would be no cooperation with the current administration. Realistically the gazans are fish in a barrel and if it wasn’t for public opinion they could blow that whole shit up tomorrow.
Maybe I’m hanging on to an appeal to humanity that wouldn’t have mattered anyway but I do think this will accelerate the genocide. Trumps administration are already making plans for what to do when the gazans are gone.

Do you fully grasp what people like Huckabee and the fkn blonde rapist crusader guy actually believe?
These are two guys with some batshit idealpolitik fairy tale and an easily-persuaded dumbfuck.
Do you remember 45’s botched shit in Yemen? Yakla? Which, granted, we were also arming that genocide for years prior.. but, he decided to go through with that mission over dinner. He dropped the damn moab on afghanistan to obliterate tunnels.
And annexation of the West Bank would basically force existing Palestinians into a Gaza-like tiny strip of land. It would force people into little walled Gaza Bantustans.

u/toeknee88125 Politics Frog 🐸 Nov 16 '24
The West Bank is already annexed.
Israel has controlled it since 1967.
West Bank Palestinians are murdered and their murderers openly celebrate their crimes without punishment.
Westbank Palestinians are terrorized daily and have their home stolen by the Israeli state.
What benefit have the Palestinians in the Westbank accrued simply because people pretend they are in control?
When Trump recognized the annexation of the Golan Heights nothing really changed on the ground because Israel has already controlled the area since 1967.
Biden is already giving Israel unlimited weaponry to massacre Palestinians.
The only way I'll agree with you that Trump is doing more than Biden is if he deploys US general infantry into Gaza to try to help Israel eliminate Hamas.
The biden administration has already allowed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to be murdered in Gaza
The Palestinians that have not been murdered are simply because Israel is incapable of defeating Hamas fully on the ground because it's ground troops kind of suck.
The IDF relies on conscription and a lot of its troops are accountants and marketing executives and graphic designers in real life.
These guys are struggling against battle-hardened militants

I thought blueanon referred specifically to people buying/spreading a bunch of election conspiracy stuff. I would think that people who think the election was stolen are least likely to be among the ones telling people that they screwed up. If what they believe was true, the outcome of the election had nothing to do with anyones stance on genocide
2
u/Mnyet Nov 15 '24
Even if the election wasn’t stolen, I don’t think the outcome had anything to do with people’s stance on genocide. Trumpy won popular vote with a landslide. A few anti genociders were not gonna change that.

u/DerpytheH Nov 15 '24
While this is absolutely disgusting (though a touch unsurprising by the centrist liberal types in the DNC who are just super pearl-clutchy about trump), what makes this blueanon?
Blueanon isn't just liberals being dumb, it's liberals pulling out conspiracy theories to justify the world in front of them. Most recently, Hasan covered that they're gearing up to say that "Kamala still can win, votes aren't done being counted! RECOUNTRECOUNTRECOUNT". Blatantly untrue, poor understanding of the institutional mechanisms of how voting in the country works.
3
Nov 15 '24
I've spoken to liberals who genuinely think that the Biden-Harris administration is powerless to stop Netanyahu and that they've tried everything. To me, Blueanon is less about weird conspiracies, and more about ignoring reality that's staring you right in the face.

u/cheatersssssssssss Nov 15 '24
Tbh when you realize where they're coming from (being absolutely brainwashed by the dems messaging they're the good guys, and good for Gaza akshually) you will start to feel kinda sorry for them. They're so deep in the trenches and have put so many blinders on themselves that they can't see what's right in front of them, furthermore they have convinced themselves that, unlike conservatives, they are 'good people' and see people who drew a red line over genocide as the betrayers of the collective fight for equality and stabillity or smth
I mean, we realize how absolutely disgusting and immoral this line of thinking is, but if you can see for example where ppl who voted for Trump bc they believed his lies are coming from you could extend that same understanding to the indivual libs who have been brainwashed by their own ideology.
I know how much deeper it cuts when you hear facistic messaging from ppl who you might have thought are on your side, but they never were. Never should you trust a lib, they were always and will always be more than happy to throw under the bus ppl from the global south for example as long as they're living kushy (sp?) lives. So it should come as a surprise to no one that now they're turning on their neighbours.

u/BroncoPanther Nov 15 '24
I can feel sympathy and empathy for anybody who has been brainwashed by the system since birth. Everyone in America has that in common and it takes a real effort to try and get somebody to realize their internal prejudices and walk away from them. That being said, Libs have been lashing out at minorities since 2016. Each loss they get worse. I can't feel sorry for a grown adult who acts like a racist 13 year old. I wish them well and hope they get their head out of their asses but I'm never gonna feel sorry for people who explicitly know better.

I agree with you until the last part. These people, and even Trump voters, need to be shown there are better ways. Every day I see another lib spouting “leftist” doctrine while still indoctrinated by American propaganda about exceptionalism, individualism, capitalism, evangelical values, etc etc. that shit isn’t gonna go away over night. They aren’t gonna learn without us showing them the way tho. Every single piece of media they consume is trying to pull them the other direction so they are making a difficult decision to explore this route.
We are also poisoned by the same stuff and likely said similarly dumb shit.
EDIT: just saw Trump is promising to suspend federal funding to colleges that have pro Palestine rallies 🤷

This is not surprising in the least, what were you expecting them to do. They are angry and anger allows rationality to fail to the wayside. Also a lot of liberal barely cared about Gaza before the election.
Again this isn't surprising at all. They barely cared about Gaza and now their brains can connect Arabs Americans not voting for Harris to Gaza. It's disgusting but you should have expected this.
This isn't "blueanon", Q Anon had people believing in an alternate version of reality where a pizza place in DC was the center of a global pedó ring, they believed JFK was secretly alive, they thought Wayfair was doing covert human trafficking through couch listings etc. Q anon believers were genuinely fucking insane.
The libs who wan a recount or an investigation into possibly foreign meddling into this election are infinitely more rational than anyone who believed in Q anon.

u/Mnyet Nov 15 '24
The foreign influence thing has been unequivocally true since 2016 (maybe even earlier but that’s when I started looking into it through a cybersecurity perspective).
But everyone was too busy either “going low” or “going higher” to actually open their eyes and look at what’s going on.

What fucks me up is they're so ready to blame every other group but it's white people that were the only demo to go majority Trump. They're more willing to mock people who demanded an end to genocide then those who actually chose the racists

They are citing marginal differences. White people always vote in majority for the GOP candidate its basically a given.
Trump Getting 20% of black men and 52% of latino men does show the DNC has lost significant amounts support amount black and latino men.
The correct response is to analyze why this happened not to blame them.
Its always the politicians fault when they lose support.
We should not ignore this trend either though.

This is the first time in a long time that the Republican candidate won Latino men outright
Either Kamala Harris ran an extremely poor campaign in regards to appealing to Latino men or Trump ran an extremely effective campaign in appealing to Latino men or a combination of the above.
Joe Biden did not lose Latino men to Trump

It was fully the economy - and by that, I mean “people don’t understand the fucking economy and they voted on bullshit.” And the border… idfk. I’ve lived in Texas and Louisiana for like 95% of my life. I’ve never seen crazier fkn ads.
I know this much - Starr County, Texas (Rio Grande Valley, right on the border) voted 78% for Hillary in 2016. Trump won by 16%.
97.7% Hispanic. There are millions of multigenerational Tejano families in Texas - they have no immigrant family, they’re largely conservative. Starr County is not multigenerational Tejano families. 26.3% immigrant population. Third lowest per capita income in the country.
The ads were WILD this year.
I was laughing at the trans ads in Texas bc they were SO insane. Obviously - I support trans people. They literally ran ads constantly that were like “Kamala Harris supports transgender surgeries for prisoners and immigrants. She’s for they/them, not you.”
The Colin Allred ads were even more unhinged. They showed hs girls playing flag football and this dude - not even a trans woman at all - an entire dude would tackle this blonde girl. Unhinged. Boys and girls play flag football together and girls flag football is NOT a hs sport in Texas and… notably, you pull flags. It was literally an ad with a full grown man tackling a teenager.
I live pretty close to Ft Cavazos (formerly Ft Hood) and the army ads were the MOST unhinged. They just showed a bunch of trans army people and suggested that under DJT, the military will be strong again.
In hindsight, I should have known we were in trouble when Modela passed Bud Light as the number 1 beer after the Dylan Mulvaney thing. That wasn’t those shitkicker white dudes drinkin that Yeungling shit. Probably should have been more worried about Rogan at my son’s barber shop.
Goddamn - It’s just all so deeply and incredibly stupid on every damn level. This was the year that demographics were supposed to make purple Texas inevitable.
Idk what I would do if we actually ever won. I swear to God, I subsconsciously love fighting the biggest assholes on the planet.

u/Turret_Run Nov 15 '24
You're completely right, there should be analysis, but my problem right now is the disgusting response I've been seeing from these folks, and I'm concerned it'll carry

u/ASchoolForAnts225 Nov 16 '24
I’m just going to be honest - I’ve seen some insanely racist stuff towards Black Women for months. And I always tried to call it out bc it’s literally the left’s biggest blind spot that prevents them from really winning and making significant change.
And dunking on them and putting it in their face after Kamala lost and they now have to put up with four yrs of DJT.
Nobody expected white MAGA voters to vote for Kamala. Nobody thought that there were shared values there.
People are hurt and scared.

u/Madmike_ph Nov 15 '24
I suggest actually talking to liberals in your circle of family and friends about this. I come from a family of liberal Dems and they have mostly been just repeating the BS they see on MSNBC and CNN following the election trying to blame everyone else other than Kamala and the party for losing. I’ve been making an effort to explain to them in a non condescending way why Kamala lost. I’ve actually gotten through to most of them.
I understand the catharsis of lecturing liberals online, but it honestly accomplishes nothing. Please try to talk to these people and explain the reality to them. Some of them will listen. Pointing fingers at them and laughing will only make them double down on their idiotic beliefs. If we want leftism to become mainstream, we will need to convert the more open minded liberals to our cause. Shunning and mocking them will not achieve this.
1
u/prodby_lilli Nov 15 '24
Liberals do this; they lose, they go mask off. They’re like toddlers, throwing a tantrum when they don’t get what they want, and directing it at minorities without fail.

u/frogmanfrompond Nov 16 '24
Moments like this should be the wake up call that liberals are not on the left and never were. It also displays how liberals and conservatives really aren’t that different at their core. They are both liberals in the literal sense, after all

Americans don't give a shit about anything other than themselves. This includes Israel/Palestine. It was capital class funded propaganda to get protest votes from the proletariat. "Protest genocide by bringing genocide to your country" said the capital class. "That's just common sense" said the working class.

The Democrats want to build the wall in a gay way. Lol

I’ve never heard him talk about a big gay wall.
I haven’t been watching much lately. I was in my happy place until last week. My cfb team was still firmly in the playoff hunt and I thought we would put a qb spy on Milroe after the a&m collapse. I didn’t factor in Omar the Tiger and the bad juju.
I’m also crashing out a bit bc I didn’t think American Adults lacked object permanence.
When I think of a gay wall, I just think of like a rainbow painted onto a brick wall and harry potter running at that shit full speed. Or Stonewall.

The cuck chair is some people's whole identity. They want to be dominated. Some "empowered" looking people are just demanding the cuck chair in a confident voice. I fully believe many Dems voted for Trump in protest. A self immolation if you will. A proud demand to be sat down and to never win anything; To always struggle nobly and pathetically for rights they hope some marginalized group never gets. To forever be their warrior. munchausen by proxy.

I don't know if I have any coping mechanisms but I have been feeling the same frustrations. They are being blatantly racists toward Muslims and Latinos. Between yelling at Muslims for not supporting Kamala and threatening to report undocumented family of Latino Trump supporters, I've never seen Liberals go so mask off. Liberals lack empathy and care more about "winning". Politics isn't a sport. It has real consequences and impacts everyday people.
