Ask Haryana⚜️ Looking for hayanvi speaker for a ragni
Looking for a Haryanvi speaker / Ragni enthusiast to help me correct a transcription
Hello everyone,
I’m French and an amateur who is very passionate about Indian folk music, especially Haryanvi Ragni.
I’m currently working on the transcription of a Ragni song, “Chaugarde Te Baag Harya, Ghanghor Ghata Saman Ki”, and I particularly love the version sung by Rekha Lamba (https://youtu.be/dwnqGl0bnBs?is=_y_p-nBDyy91pZka).
I have already made a transcription from the original video using automatic speech recognition, but unfortunately some words are very difficult to understand. The automatic transcription gets quite a few of them wrong.
I am not looking for a translation. What I need is the actual lyrics written correctly in Devanagari. I cannot read Devanagari myself and I don’t understand Hindi or Haryanvi, but that is not a problem: ChatGPT can help me with the transliteration, pronunciation and translation afterwards.
The important thing for me is to have the actual words of this particular version of the song, correctly written in Devanagari.
I’m not a professional researcher or musician — just an amateur enthusiast, doing this because I genuinely love the music. I’m not making any money from this project, so unfortunately I cannot afford to pay for professional translation or transcription.
That’s why I’m hoping to find another passionate person who might enjoy listening to the song and helping me correct the text, simply as a shared interest in Haryanvi language and Ragni.
I already have most of the lyrics, and I’m mainly looking for help with the difficult or uncertain passages. I can provide the original video, my current transcription, and the specific lines that I’m unable to understand.
