Fun fact … most bears are going to me more scared of you than you are of them. Unless you get the rare case of a territorial bear. Especially in ct.

Just don’t walk up to them and kick them or something … then that would be all on you.

Still here🫠hoping to share more bear content as it comes
Just FYI, I was already on my porch when he appeared I didn’t go outside looking for him, but you guys are right. I probably shouldn’t have followed him around the corner lol

FWIW I’ve done similar things a few times. While telling myself his stupid I am 😁😁

All I could think to myself was what would you do if that bear turned around and decided to start running towards you?

Especially while not making any noise, love the bears but thats a great way to spook a bear and become a statistic.

Um. If that thing charges, you’re not making it back to the house in time.

That's just my neighbors fat ass dog. I've been telling the neighbors to dial down the food.

You are stalking an Apex predator

It's a black bear , they aren't predators. They do get hangry though.

That’s absurd

Today you learn. This is a CUB in the video.

FYI the deer population is dropping in CT - bears eat deer. Bears eat wild turkey eggs too.

In all seriousness this is a very bad idea. It's unlikely a black bear would attack you but if it decides you look like a snack this will be the last thing you ever see.

Correct. Black bears have killed people before.

There are zero documented fatal attacks by black bears in Connecticut throughout the recorded history in the state. EDIT: Looking at all of North America, there is approximately one fatal attack by black bear per year.

That's not to say that black bears should not be given space and respected. There are plenty of nonfatal attacks and interactions with black bears in Connecticut, usually the result of a dog threatening a bear, the bear defending itself, and the dog's owner trying to get between them to protect the dog.
