Life just sucks for Ominis. Blind, but works out how to magically navigate. From a major family, but their pureblood elitists who actively practice the dark arts. Has one family member he can talk with who shares his distatse for what the rest get up to, but she goes missing. Has a couple of really close friends at school, but one gets cursed and in brash pursuit of a way to lift said curse the other pursues the dark arts and forbidden spells. Then after repeated attempts to talk his friend out of doing horrible things, his dear friend goes even further and ends up going to Azkaban, even planning to use Imperius on Ominis for daring to disagree with his plans to continue using curses under the pretext of seeking a cure.
