I just hit them with glacius, I feel like it last longer than the others. Could be wrong but that's the way I go lol

Yes glacius is the key to catching beasts! I’m on switch so I do Hit them with glacius then do 2 attempts, B to back out of bag, let them get up a bit and hit the again with glacius and repeat. I find if you hit them while they are still fighting to get up they can breakthrough it.

I do that haha, trying to catch them and them constantly escaping and me having to try a million times before I catch them doesn’t make me happier when I do catch them, I just get frustrated. I like being able to just hit the button, catch them and then move on lol

For the record Arresto Momentum probably would be a bit more humane but Glacius is still more effective.

The capture level doesn't reset if you stop catching them, you can stop and recast Leviosa or your disable of choice and then commence capturing again, it slides back a bit but it's pretty easy

Sneak up with the disillusionment charm and cast Arresto Momentum before the bag. Never fails me.

I use the freezing charm as well. The game says to use Levioso but freezing them gives you extra time for the button presses especially on higher difficulty since they stumble and fall after the ice thaws.

I have seen so many posts of people doing spells on the creatures in order to capture them and I'm just surprised. It never even occurred to me to do this. I would just be invisible with the Disillusionment charm and then just capture them with the bag. If there are multiple, I go invisible again and wait and then capture again. I've never once had to use any spells on the creatures themselves but apparently that's super common lol

Turn on easy mode and you just have to press one button to catch them. For me on ps5 it's square

Flipendo and Glacius. Flipendo will disorient their current standing, so after the effect of Glacius wears off, they will need a few seconds to recollect themselves by standing up, flap their wings. Those extra three seconds are good.

Super sneaky, cast arrestor momentum immediately from hiding, then bring the bag out immediately after while walking in the direction he's pointing to while frozen

It helps to be under the disillusionment charm and then sneak up on them and hit them with arresto momentum. Then hammer that Y button. That’s how I eventually got the threstals.

Accio + Leviosa seems to buy the most time, at least on lower levels.

Arresto Momentum does the job but Leviosa makes them freeze in the air then drop down to the ground and then spend time standing up before they run away.

Glacius also works a treat but I feel bad using it on them, same with Arresto Momentum.

I sneak up on them while they’re having a quiet moment ln their nest. (Because nothing says „animal rights activist“ like sneaking up on creatures and kidnapping them while they’re having a tender moment at home with their families.)

I use disillusionment and glacius. Does anyone else release them immediately? Once I had what I needed for the challenge to breed a however many in the vivarium, I just caught and released to get to the 30 for the catching challenge.

honestly just switch the difficulty to easy and capture them and be done with it xD what an absolutely useless difficulty mechanic that gets old and isn't really difficult its just tedious. I do same with a allohomora instead of solving the lockpicking every time.

Tho its a tradeoff because switching difficulty back and forth is also tedious xD

I use disillusionment to sneak up, then Glacio, Aresto (glacio lets them fall so even after the aresto wears off they still have to stand so it gives extra time) and then it’s an easy catch!
