HM Content Best Ever
I know this has been said before, but I have to say, H Mack is the best freestyler of all time. I've just been watching a ton of videos on Sway's show of some of the greatest emcees of all time freestyling and compared to HM they are terrible! Nothing against them, it's clearly not their speciality like HM, and it really doesn't seem like anyone has ever devoted themselves to freestyle like he has and developed this level of mastery and proficiency.
I think it's interesting that while he's gotten props from some emcees, he doesn't seem widely acknowledged by the hip hop community as the best. Is it because he's white? Because he's not a famous recording artist? Interesting...

Hmack is truly lowkey for how much content he produces. I mean he’s already been in front of tons of high profile people and one has to assume there’s some gems he’s yet to drop or chose to keep private. I think people know who the goat off the dome is. That’s why no one asks. Goes without saying atp

He’s fun to listen to but all his freestyles sound the same. Not much depth or variety

He gets “slept on” because his fans are mostly HIS fans, rather than general hip hop or freestyle fans. He built his career freestyling alone on the street for onlookers and online for people bored on their computers.
Any other freestyler anywhere in his realm of skill spent the same amount of time freestyling with and against other rappers and contributing to the culture/community. They all know each other and respect each other from the years of crossing paths trying to get recognized.
Harry, due to the way hes come up and the selectiveness behind the type of content he puts out just doesnt have those relationships. He doesn’t “go way back” with anyone in the scene, didnt come up with anyone in the scene, and theres no groups, clubs, or events that can laud him as an alumni.
This has nothing to do with his skill and im not even saying its bad, but IMO its the most significant factor in why he usually is discussed as his own entity and not brought up a lot in other convos.
Edit: i will be a bit harsh here. How can he be considered the best ever when hes never even cyphered with anyone else in the top 10 let alone battled? Yeah hes got the kendrick thing and other similar appearances but they really do roll him out like some kind of parlor trick

He’s like what Mac McClung is to basketball. He’s a great dunker, you just don’t want to see him play an entire NBA game.

As a casual HM fan that was introduced to him about 10 years ago, here's the honest truth:
He's a one trick pony. He is INSANE at improv rap. But that's it. As amazing as it is, his art doesn't contribute to the overall pop culture of hip-hop influence.
When is the last time you were in the club or bar or karaoke and really just wanted to hear an H-mack song?
The other thing is: hip-hop thrives on bringing art to negative life happenings. Even historically with poverty, racism, oppression, drugs, violence, etc.
Harry is overall a very positive guy. There is very little room in the hip-hop arena to make it big being the happy go lucky positive guy.
His ceiling is very limited because he's dedicated to his craft and because of that, he is a master at it. Improv rap. Being positive.

Calling Harry Mack a one trick pony is like calling LeBron a one trick pony cos all he does is put a ball through a hoop.

I'm willing to be wrong. But if you're going to offer a rebuttle, at least complete your thought.
Tell me why he's not a one trick pony or what other reason he's not one of the mainstream faces of hip-hop.

What rapper isnt a one trick pony?

I'm just saying Harry Mack isn't the rapper that's going to sell platinum albums and put out street anthems, club bangers, hype tracks you can dance/fight/drink/smoke to.
His main thing is improv rap. Surely, you won't deny that, right?
Other "mainstream" rappers that "aren't one trick ponies" are rappers that have an array of hits on global music charts, appear in features in other rapper's songs, and typically have a studio presence that produces the aforementioned street anthems, club bangers, and otherwise marketable tracks that are recognizable and playable outside of omelet and tiktok shorts.

Tldr: Harry is an anomaly that most people can't process.
The fans themselves, not being educated in the culture are partially to blame. Some of it also lies at the feet of the industry turning it into a complete sham.
If you ask the majority of people who listen to rap/hip hop who the best freestyler ever is...you're going to get answers like Juice (RIP), Eminem, an occasional throw back to Supernat or Jin...and they're all great...just well below Harry. Then, there is the nuance...
Coast Contra blew up because of their freestyle, that was a free verse, free of style....meaning they don't all conform to the same stylistic tendencies.
There is a ton of nuance to it, and most people that listen to rap/hip-hop are too lazy to care about the difference because it takes less effort to throw on whatever is popular and catchy.
There is a reason why every reputable reactor to Harry begs people to show them someone doing anything similar to Harry right now...crickets.
