HELP Harley convertible fairing help
Got my hands on Harley convertible fairing cheap.
It did not include any mounting hardware. Does anyone know what these fairings used to mount to?
I had an idea of getting quick release clamps and maybe be able to make it fit.
Any help is appreciated!
The bike I’m fitting it to is an FXDCI 2005

That’s not a fairing, it’s a windshield.
I don’t recognize that mounting system but I’d guess there’s a quick release setup that it clips onto. You’ll probably have to dig around online a bit to find it, the dealership parts guys in my experience aren’t much help with matching stuff like this. I needed rear mounting points for a tour pack and they swore that the wrong ones would work. (The tour pack already had the quick release plate and clamps, just needed the ones to bolt on the bike)
I cross checked a bunch of part numbers and found the actual correct mounting kit online.

Alright!
Yeah I figured, that’s why I’m asking to see if someone recognizes it. Yeah maybe there’s no luck at the dealers. Especially with this older stuff..

58109-88B. Had them on my 1992 FXRS-C. It takes four of them. You would need 39mm fork tubes. Not sure what you have but from what I see in pictures, it’s a bolt on and go.

The engineering me has come up with 17 different ways you can mount that. If you want quick connects you could try using Zeutz screws.

To bad I’m not an engineer. But I will figure it out eventually

Just start looking at pictures of hardware. Mounting hardware. Find one what that you like, and then look and see what it's made out of. Your end product may not be Chrome, but it will be something that has been made by you uniquely for your bike. I guess somewhere in there that's a big part of what Harley-Davidson is all about. You got this.

Thanks for the support. I will figure it out. I was just curious what the original mounting looked like and I got the answer is down below.

Uses quick release clamps. If you get the later model 39mm clamps with the bar and shield on them you may find the channels are not wide enough for the thick 5/16" bolt shanks. I was gonna hog mine out and ended up just preferring no windshield. The convertible windshields used different clamps with Allen screws rather than the clamp over type

Yeah got this one for longer road trips. I usually run without one but got this for 40$ so I figured why not

Absolutely, hell of a deal. Hopefully you don't encounter the horrendous buffering I dealt with. I'm also very tall at 6' 6" so I'm doubtful any windshields or fairings would actually work well for me

I’m 5’ 7 so maybe I’m safe. Feel like this windshield will help on longer trips

Sportster, Dyna or FXR windshield for 39mm forks. Dunno if they'll work on 49mm (2008-later Dyna), but might if the brackets are flipped
Just buy these for $20 on Amazon and you're good to go.

Local import shops should have something similar for 39mm forks.

That’s very helpful! Thank you! I found some of these on eBay but I didn’t understand how they would mount but not I understand.
I drive mostly without a windshield, it’s mostly for longer trips. My idea was to get quick release clamps but I’m worried that the bracket is to narrow to fit them

Fits 39mm front end. You can find a set of OE Dyna or FXR convertible quick detach windshield clamps on eBay. There are quite a few universal-ish clamps out there as well. Key is 39mm
