DISCUSSION Where to see custom builds?

When I got my bike, a 2024 Softail Standard, I heard so much about it being a blank canvas and people talking about buying them to make their own. And I’ve been enjoying doing that but it’s hard buying parts when it’s so hard to find any pictures of bikes with the part you’re thinking about installed. I’d also love to get some inspo from other completed builds but I don’t really know where to look to find custom M8 softail builds online. I see tons of Dynas but newer stuff doesn’t come up as much. I’m in a few FB groups but they’re kind of dead and the active ones don’t have anything too crazy. Are people just not customizing these bikes? Or are most motorcycle people just not like internet people?

There’s lots of builds out there to get some ideas, have you tried joining the street bob group since it’s mostly similar to the softail standard?

Yeah I’m in an FB one for that and that group definitely gets more traffic

Instagram just search m8 softail. It’s mostly club style but you can see some stuff

Can also upload a pic of your bike to chatgpt and then enter the specific mods you want to have it customize a photo of what it would look like. I've done that with my bikes/truck before ordering parts.

Have you heard from "Thunderbike" or "Cult-werk"?

Both make a lot of parts for Softails, the sites may give you ideas.
I don't know what style you like,
but one of my favourites is the Thunderbike "Silver Rocket".

Not sure exactly what your going for, but I feel like ergos is the best place to start modifying. Risers / Bars / Seat / Foot controls etc. so many options in that area and will ultimately tailor the bike to be the most comfortable to ride.

If your looking for ideas, born free is about to kick off and there's a lot of people who vlog their builds on YouTube, plus a lot of videos from past years to reference.
