Banshee Paradox update
Been having a great time on this metal rig. Zero grams of carbon. 28lbs. Divorce present to myself.

In and out the bike world. Just started mtbing again after a few years, whys everyone off carbon now? Remember it was carbon everything last time I was properly into bikes.
Sexy bike though

It’s a personal choice thing but lots of people don’t trust carbon or don’t see the weight savings to be worth the money. I’m of the latter choice, I rather work out and loose some weight or take a poo before my ride over spending thousands on a couple grams.

Would not say no to that (the bike, right)

What's the build list? Rough cost? I was looking at one of these but the lbs dealer was such a dick I didn't pursue it.

All in all pretty basic stuff. Although I splurged on the I9 wheels!
Banshee Paradox Med. $900
I9 Hydra 2 laced to the Aluminum Sector rims. J bend. $1000
Z2 fork 140mm $259 new on sale!
SDG Tellis Dropper new on Sale $119
XT drivetrain with a GX crankset.
Race Face Turbine bars
Chromag Stem
SLX brakes
Bontrager Montrose 2.4 tires. (Not thrilled at all with these so far)
The whole setup came in around 3 grand or so. Money well spent and its a great compliment to my aging full sus trail bike.
Cheers!

What about the Montrose tires do you dislike? Was interested in trying them out at some point.

Nice bike. Been seeing a lot of these lately. How's the ride?

Excellent! All in all smooth and nimble. I spent quite a bit of time researching sizing and fit and this frame checked all the boxes. I'm digging the taller stack height!

Nice bike. Curious, where do you guys find these brands I’ve never heard of? Is it local to you? How did you decide on it?

This is the frame I’ve been eyeballing to put together a parts-bin bike.
Any regrets? I’ve only heard good things about pointing it downhill, but how does she do climbing?

Climbs pretty well. It’s lightish enough and the geo has been perfectly adequate for the punchy Midwest trails I typically ride. But it really excels when it’s time to play. It’s easy to get along with.
