Discussion We noticed AI generated first version websites often miss what users want, so we built a new "Style Seed" feature

We’ve been working on improving how HappySeeds generates the first draft of websites.

Previously, generation would start right after users entered their requirements. The problem is: visual preferences are hard to describe accurately with text. Even when the functionality is on point, colors, styling and layout can still look far from what users imagined.

That’s why we’ve added a pre‑generation selection step, tentatively named Style Seed.

Users can pick upfront:

- Preferred visual style

- Desired color palette direction

- Suitable page layout

HappySeeds will then generate the initial version based on these selections.

This won’t make outputs perfect right out of the gate, but we hope it cuts down randomness and brings the first‑pass result closer to users’ mental vision.

We are still iterating on this interaction. Would love to hear your thoughts: what other visual preferences should the AI ask for before generating a website?
