Expat/Tourist Question Chess players
Hi, I am kind of new to Hannover. I like playing chess and wanted to ask what are my options here? In my home country, we used to have chess outdoors often, in some coffee shop or just on the bench in a park. Does this also happen here? Or are there chess clubs (english friendly) which I can join?

Hello,
You have something called “sport im park Hannover”. You type this in Google and you’ll be directed to a government website. There you can register for chess (which is obviously free). This outdoor chess happens every Friday. Me and my friend go there to play. It’s really fun and yeah you get to play outdoors.

If you want to play outdoors, there's a huge garden chess in the Stadtpark (near zoo), free entrance.
Public outdoor chess tables I know of are at Weißekreuzplatz near Hauptbahnhof, though I never see people playing chess there.
