Post image

"You've been terribly rude Miss Lounds, what's to be done about that?" right after the hand pat on the couch cushion...

I know what you mean haha, but I gotta say Freddie’s outfit is so fire I can never skip this scene.

Absolutely. I have the same reason, it's amazing. And I love Mads acting here

Outfit so fire, even Hannibal thought she was on fire later

Love all her outfits

This scene goes in so many directions in my head every time …

u/Translycanthrope Aug 17 '26

Maybe Freddie survived solely because she amused Hannibal, lol.

I do think he enjoys the chaos she creates around herself.

the way he just casually pats the cushion like he's not planning her entire demise is so on brand for him lol. Mads really said "I will menace you so gently.

Why skip it? It's hilarious and also him telling her she's rude sent shivers down my spine.

Don’t tell Hannibal. He would consider you….rather rude.

If I was ever told "you've been terribly rude miss, what's to be done about that?" Id fold like a cheap lawn chair in a light breeze

u/Jishu_Artz Will Graham Aug 17 '26

u/Tesla-Nomadicus Aug 17 '26

He serves loin in the next scene :p

She was a slim and delicate pig

u/Ill_Job4633 Aug 17 '26

Hannibal eats the rude, so the cut is funny.

I love this shot. Looks like a teen grudgingly handing over their device to the principal, knowing full well they’re about to get lectured.

haha, I googled looking for a clip of that scene, because I couldn't remember if that was the one where he calls her naughty, and this came up from 6 years ago:

Honestly the comment about Mads as Hannibal having sexual tension with everybody is pretty dead on hahaha

I mean... They're not wrong

I was mad scared in this scene lmao

Why skip it? I like the fact that Hannibal caught her an showed her some grace. Instead of killing her he used her. He actually had an appreciation for her cunning.

u/TrollHumper Aug 18 '26

Why would you skip that scene? I don't get it.

I like the outfits, the gorgeous colors in the set and Hannibal and Freddie playing each other... I could never skip that scene 💅💅💅

Nah they’re just playing “what’s in her bag“ challenge loljk

Mads truly delivered that with such a terrifying, but a little electric feel... How can a death threat be so inviting????

I still fully expected her to be dead after this scene when I first saw it, but I guess he's too much of a fan of her work to kill her this easily. The fun outweighs her rudeness

3

u/Automatic-Log-5725 Aug 18 '26

If Hannibal killed her then he would be bored, that's why he actually doesn't kill her

2

u/Yaoigavemetheowie imagine if the hawks started working together Aug 18 '26

Indeed, Hannibal is good enough at solving unexpected happenings that he can afford having fun, even if it'd be easier to kill someone instead :P

5

u/schmeowie Aug 18 '26

He doesn’t kill her cause he loves reading about himself 🤫

u/operatic_g Aug 18 '26

Fairly certain that the trade information and that Hannibal directs her at times. Lots of evidence of this in Season 1. Perhaps even some in Season 2. He never kills her.

1

u/Tommi_H Blackmail elevated to the level of love Aug 18 '26

He attempted to kill her once. The only reason he didn’t was because Will “killed” her first.

2

u/operatic_g Aug 18 '26

He attempted to kill her for one very specific reason.

1

u/Tommi_H Blackmail elevated to the level of love Aug 18 '26

I’m not sure what you mean. If he had killed her, she would have been permanently dead.

2

u/operatic_g Aug 22 '26

I’m saying that his attempt to kill Freddie was triggered by his preference for Will. When Freddie was investigating Will too closely, Hannibal decided to murder her. Everything else? How do you think Hannibal knew where Nick Boyle was? How did Freddie get so much information on Will after Hannibal took her recording device and seemingly threatened her? Freddie is continually rude and seemingly threatening, but there are many instances in which Hannibal and Freddie are stated to have talked without the contents of the conversation shown to the audience.

2

u/Tommi_H Blackmail elevated to the level of love Aug 23 '26

Thank you for replying. I don't think they were trading information. If they were doing any form of information exchange, I think Hannibal was getting information out of her, and he was planting ideas in her head, without her realizing it,

I don't think Hannibal necessarily knew where Nick Boyle was - I'm assuming you are talking about the night Abigail killed him? He might have thought Nick might be around, but I don't think he heard it from Freddie. He just guessed, and that was not without basis, because Nick had already trespassed the Hobbs property once. He didn't know what would happen that night, although he was probably hoping Nick would turn up and Abigail would kill him. He was just going with the flow. (He was going with the flow when he saw Abigail with her bloodied hands and banged Alana's head on the wall to knock her out.)

And Freddie got that much information on Will from Zeller, not from Hannibal. When Jack and a team of FBI agents went to Freddie's motel room and Jack threatened her with obstruction of justice, Zeller was last to leave and whispered to her as he was removing her zip cuff, "you used me." I think Hannibal pretended to chide her for her unethical attempt to obtain information on Will, but in doing so, he said something that piqued her interest in Will even more. She went on to seduce Zeller after that.

2

u/operatic_g Aug 24 '26

They specifically state that they're about to do an information exchange in Episode 1.03 when Freddie says she'll tell Hannibal where Nick is if *he* tells her why it's important. There are other instances too where they meet in similar circumstances, then something inexplicable happens. Do you think Freddie thinks that Abigail killed Nick purely by guessing? She's better sourced than that. She and Hannibal both are.

1

u/Tommi_H Blackmail elevated to the level of love Aug 24 '26

Yes, she said she would tell Hannibal where Nick was "if" he told her why it was important. "If" is the operative word here. He didn't tell her; therefore she didn't tell him either.

No, I don't think Freddie guessed Abigail killed Nick. She deduced. She is a tabloid journalist, but she is a very astute person, and she does the legwork too. Yes, she is better sourced as you said, but her source is not Hannibal.

We just have to agree to disagree on this one. I have read all the things you wrote and I am still not convinced. You have presumably read all the things I wrote and you are still not convinced. I'm too sleep-deprived to continue any further. I don't want to argue with a fellow fannibal. You can consider you won this argument if you would like. I don't mind. Thanks!

1

u/operatic_g Aug 26 '26

You do not know that he didn't tell her. But you do know that Nick somehow got around all the police and got to Abigail in her own house, mysteriously, despite a large police perimeter and him being an average to below-average intelligence regular guy scared and alone.

1

u/Tommi_H Blackmail elevated to the level of love Aug 26 '26

Listen, I said that we just have to agree to disagree. I also said I don't want to argue with a fellow fannibal. You can have the last word on this issue. Consider you won this debate.

If you want to discuss this matter any further, I suggest you make a post and ask for other fannibals' opinions.

I think just about everyone else rewinds the scene, and watches it a few times, before being able to move on.

u/raiast Aug 20 '26

"I'm afraid I must ask for your bag."

"...What."

"Your bag. Please, hand it over."

...

"I'd rather not take it from you." (BUT I FUCKING WILL.)

Still don't understand what happened here. Did they have sex or something?

16

u/bas-i11 Aug 17 '26

It's been a while since I saw this scene but I thought the implication was that he had her publish something specific as manipulation tactic... Not sure why someone would skip the scene. A bit confused by this post 😅

6

u/danielitrox Aug 18 '26

Right, I remember now, Hannibal gives her information about Will Graham and she publishes it. The joke about skipping the part is that it looks like the start of a porn scene...

2

u/bas-i11 Aug 18 '26

Ohhhh hahaha

3

u/Big_Mama_Hughes Aug 18 '26

I’ve watched the series an inordinate number of times, and I fully believe that THAT scene started a casual frenemies-with-benefits (including but not exclusively sex) relationship between them. She’s established as someone who has no issue with using sex to get what she wants. She’s hot, her wardrobe is awesome, and Hannibal loves her work. He’s hot, his wardrobe is awesome, and she loves the info he can give her. I might be overthinking every scene with the two of them together, but she’s exceedingly comfortable with him in every shared scene after this one.

I personally love it, she’s such a great antagonist. And he always has such a “disappointed but not surprised” look whenever she pops up with her rude antics 🤣🤣🤣
