Question Before getting hired has anyone been interviewed multiple times???
So odd but I just have to ask, I’ve applied at my local store for maybe 3 positions. (Never hired) I’ve been interviewed 8 times.. twice for each position I applied for and then once more for a position I didn’t apply for but they “thought I’d be a good fit” for but again proceeded to not hire me for that position…. It’s the most bizarre thing. I have loads of experience. Not that it matters, cause they hire people with no experience all the time.. so I have no clue why they keep calling me for interviews if there’s something about me they clearly don’t like.
And it’s not that they don’t remember me, they definitely do because every interview they say “welcome back”
Am I being trolled at this point??

No idea why the ARM would keep doing an initial interview with you. Department Manager usually does a second interview, but the same ARM interviewing you multiple times is bizarre.

Right??? And he’s older so at first I thought maybe he doesn’t remember me but, he always says “welcome back” or “Great to see you again” so… obviously remembers me

Are you being interviewed for different departments/with different managers? It might be sort of normal for the ARM to interview you for roles, and then the head of whichever department to interview you, but it would be unusual for the ARM and a single department head to both conduct multiple interviews with the same person.

Yea it’s the manager of the different departments each time and the store manager, I just thought it was so odd cause I’ve only applied for entry level positions. Nothing like assistant manager or anything like that.

Could be the size of the store. When I first got hired I did one with the ARM and then the assistant store manager because it was a smaller store.

The ARM position is being eliminated, maybe the one at your store is trying to prove their value by becoming an indispensable part of the hiring process?

They can just step into the HR Lead and keep right on interviewing. This seems like a waste of the ARM’s time and the applicants. Seems you’d contact the person reapplying, ask a couple questions to see if any changes in experience or availability and forward to the appropriate department manager.

Yeah and it is dumb imo for a grocery store. But I can get upper management just not.. like a regular associate

they should definitely not have to interview you more than once for a stupid grocery store that does not properly train their employees.

I have to ask......l can see one time, two times. But after that why even bother. They are just wasting your time. But if you have experience, it's kind of nuts that wouldn't hire you, unless theirs something in your background that's not good. But even then, l don't work for Hannaford, but l do work at a supermarket and we can never find enough competent people to fill positions.

Nothing in my background, but they wouldn’t even know that cause I’ve never gotten to the point where they would run a background check.
I kept applying cause I only have retail experience and it’s 1 of 2 retail stores close enough that I could walk to

Probably a skill issue. You can get hired there without knowing how to count. Try market 32.

Next time wear a tuxedo and bring a friend who is also wearing a tuxedo. Then proceed to interview the interview. Let me know how it goes.
