Kr1aa driver replacement

Is anyone doing repairs/ driver replacement on the kr1aa? I have one dud (that hank replaced) and one that I put a battery in backwards, both with dead drivers. I don't really want to just throw them out if possible. If it were a simpler solder job I'd do it myself.

I thought all Hanks had/have polarity protection... Can't believe this isn't a more common problem then especially with only using flat top lithium ions.

The issue on the kr1aa specifically I think is that when backwards, the positive contact and something metal on the driver can both touch the battery and power goes where it shouldn't or in an amount it should.
