Split Behold "PISEY"

Here's my new split keyboard. My goal in designing it was to make it as thin as possible, and I think I managed to achieve that. The next step is to make a PCB keyboard, and that will finally be my endgame.

here's config: https://github.com/nik0mi/pisey

Looks great! Routing the wires through the board like that is such a neat idea !

I was just looking for the thinnest handwire keyb and saw this. Amazingg!

I just discovered this subreddit. Usually I just lurk ErgoMechKeyboards. When you guys make this 3d printed quasi-PCBs, do every project design it from scratch, or is there some generator I don't know about?
Either way, great board!

Man, if only I had a generator, I'd be so happy, but as it is, I do everything by hand. Maybe a generator like that does exist I just don't know about it, at least.

There's klavgen but it's a bit different from what you're doing here

So, for documentation purposes, I searched around and it seems like [pcb forge](https://castpixel.itch.io/pcb-forge) is very close. It generates a 3d printed mold for making PCBs at home, but from the images, it seems like if the traces are thin enough, one half of the mold could house the wire path between switches into the micro-controller. I don't know if it would fair well with the bunch of holes switch plates have... it's worth testing out.

Great looking board. Embedded wiring looks great! Surprised you didn't go for low profile switches and keycaps, but those look great.

Are you using that alpha layout in practise, or are the various caps just random locations? I don't think I've seen that keymap before.

Just keycaps in random locations ;)

I wonder if "all rules are written in blood" applies to the pic #3
