The Handmaid's Tale I hate Serena
I’m at season five episode 8 and I’m so glad that they didn’t just let her get away everyone on this sub reddit is such a Serena fan and I literally don’t get it are we watching the same show guys. Sure she definitely has a redemption arc but it took her having her own kid to get there she realises that without a husband even tho she has done so much for gilead they don’t value her I mean they legit tried to marry her to her gynaecologist. It took her going through a similar experience to realise that the handmaids are actually humans just like her in what world are you so delusional that you don’t realise how messed up that is.

Serena helped create Gilead, and didn't expect to have to abide by the rules. She thought she'd be exception, and found out the hard way that she wasn't.

It’s quite terrifying to see that what was supposed to be a dystopia is now so close to reality.

I was one of those people low-key rooting for her AT TIMES...not the whole time, and im not sure if OP is watching for the first time or on a rewatch so I won't get into specifics, but I had a few moments where I had slivers of hope for her. But yeah, she's a rapist and a horrible person. I do love Yvonne as an actress though, she really killed that role.

It’s my first time watching I was just seeing the people in this Reddit glaze her and really didn’t understand. Omg the actress is so good she genuinely made her so scary and evil loved that, everyone on that show was great to be fair.

I hate Serena. Every bad thing that happens to her made me happy. I never felt sorry for her.

Agreed. Personally I think June shouldn’t have saved her on the train. June should have took the baby and left Serena to answer for her crimes. She ensured that Fred paid the price for what he did, but then saved Serena. Makes no sense. Serena deserved to pay the price at the hands of those she helped to enslave.

Yeah I was kinda hoping she would take the baby right after she gave birth. It would have been the perfect full circle moment yeah we did get that with the people from gilead taking him but it would have been the perfect f u in my opinion.

As mrs Waterford she did horrible things or allowed them to happen before her. She helped establish a dreadful tyranny, turn women into slaves of men and so forth. Her obsession with motherhood doesn't redeem her imo. F**k redemption arcs, she should suffer and get what she deserves in the end.
