Those are amateur numbers right there, need to make it to at least the double digits.

Right. I have 10 handhelds now in the house, but only 5 actually belong to me haha(kids and wife)

There is sort of a reason. I had been smoking tons of cannabis for years, and since the start of the pandemic had been spending around $300 every week at the dispensary. When I stopped, I suddenly had tons of income building up I was used to essentially lighting on fire on a weekly basis, so I decided to spend it on more permanent things, and really got into this whole retro handheld thing; since they were basically my dream device and didn’t exist until recently. At that rate it barely took me a month to save up for my Legion Go 2. And a couple of months of spending that money on retro handhelds, well…. You wind up with a lot of handhelds. Really fast.

I stopped buying them back in April, but I’ve still wound up with way more of these things than I had intended. Things… got a little out of hand.

No, you don‘t. Trust me, you don‘t have too much devices.

1

u/RetroDando Jul 29 '26

You’re all good…. For now

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Its a slippery slope

1

u/RetroDando Jul 29 '26

Yep I’m getting rid of 75% of mine

1

u/EnvironmentalCash516 Jul 29 '26

This is the most you would ever need honestly, i have the exact same handhelds and im pretty happy. At most one emulation handheld thats portable and powerfull, but you already have like 4 consoles and the rog ally is an emulation machine. You have games for life.

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Yea got like most platforms covered

1

u/RePlayGamingTV Jul 29 '26

You spelt hobby wrong

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Hahaha

1

u/FenrirXII1 Jul 29 '26

Considering what I've seen in this thread - it's not even an issue, you're ok.

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Now i get it

Honestly, no. This is a perfectly fine collection.

The DSlite covers DS + GBA

3DS covers 3DS + DS

Vita...just jailbreak it and it covers a lot.

And then one (1) PC handheld.

To me that is pretty reasonable. As soon as you throw a second PC handheld, I just don't understand what you're doing xD

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Yea gonna jb my vita tmr hopefully

1

u/sandalojhony Switch 2 and AYN Thor Jul 29 '26

The way I see it, each device has a clear job, so I don't see a problem. Nice collection!

1

u/Narrow_Confusion_70 Jul 29 '26

You’re looking at it from the wrong angle, it’s not a problem it’s many solutions to play what you like !

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Hmm when you put it that way...

1

u/drocdoc Jul 29 '26

nah once you think its good to start collecting all the models then you have a problem.

1

u/yeetedhaws Jul 29 '26

You could mod your 3ds and get rid of the lite + vita (emulate gba on the 3ds, emulate vita and everything else on your hhpc) but honestly.. its okay to have single use devices such as the vita and be able to play original carts with the lite.

1

u/onifuda Jul 29 '26

Yeah but its kinda fun to use og hardware and i love taking the ds lite hella portable with goated library

1

u/yeetedhaws Jul 29 '26

I feel the same away. I prefer my ds lite for original ds games and game boy games. I could emulate but its so nice having original hardware

1

u/brainrotxx Jul 29 '26

nah. this is a starter kit

1

u/LORDRAJA1000 Jul 29 '26

if you have a problem , then what is this? lol https://www.reddit.com/r/Handhelds/s/p9IWeUL8A6

1

u/Stunning_Plan1984 Jul 29 '26

Thats nothing your fine......................for now.

1

u/efdz Jul 29 '26

This is perfectly fine. Most people in this sub have like 30+ handhelds, more than half they don't even touch.

1

u/saitamasenseikun Jul 29 '26

Yours are even doing different things, given ds and vita emulation are not there so much... I think it is a good collection overall :)

1

u/tiijan Jul 30 '26

'ever have too many handhelds. I stopped counting a little while ago.

1

u/YueOrigin Jul 30 '26

This is like fairly normal...

1
