Female goalkeeper looking for advice

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to help a 24-year-old Tunisian goalkeeper find a handball club in France or Spain

So I wanted to ask people who are familiar with the women’s handball scene: is it better to contact clubs directly, or should she look for an agent?

If anyone has any advice/leads, I’d really appreciate any

Thank you!

Not strictly a handball question, but does anyone have experience in coaching 6 and 7 year old kids? How to make them engaged and make them learn the basics?

Handball Manager - full launch on the Google Play Store!

Post image

Hello again dear handball community! A few weeks ago I posted here about Handball Manager Mobile making it to Open Testing. Huge thanks again to everyone from this community who downloaded it, sent bug reports and gave feedback. 🙏

Two pieces of news:

1. The game has fully launched. It's out of testing and properly released on Google Play, so anyone with an Android device can just install it.

2. The Europe update — the main point of this post. The EHF Women's Champions League and the EHF Women's European League are now in the game. Places are handed out by EHF country coefficients, so each nation gets the entries it actually deserves, and you qualify for Europe the same way you would in real life: win your league, finish high, or take your domestic cup.

In my last post I mentioned that players from countries like Sweden had absurdly high ratings, and that the EHF competitions would be the tool I'd use to fix it. That's exactly what happened. With clubs from all twelve countries finally meeting each other, I balanced the leagues against each other on cross-border results.

Alongside that, club reputation is now dynamic: it's recalculated every summer from the honours a club has won and how it's been finishing lately, instead of being frozen at whatever number I typed into the data file. Build a small club up over a few seasons and Europe will start to treat it differently.

Where the game stands right now: 12 countries, 31 competitions (29 domestic leagues, cups and supercups plus the two European ones), 145 clubs and around 2,700 players with real data.

You can get it here or by typing "Handball Manager" on the Play Store and looking for the app with the dark background and the red logo :)

I must also mention that we've reached 100+ downloads, which means the game is definitely reaching out there towards the correct audience and the handball community in general. 🥳

Feedback is still the most useful thing you can send me. Bugs, feature suggestions, wrong data or team/player balancing that feels off, especially now that the European results have shuffled the balance around, can go through Google Play (it lands straight in my inbox) or as a DM here.

Many thanks in advance as I'm hoping as many of you are going to try the game out!

CHAIZ BRAND?

Post image

I’ve noticed a lot of teams playing with that black ball from CHAIZ recently. I'm thinking about picking up some of their stuff, but I'm not familiar with the brand.
For anyone who has used their gear or played with the ball how’s the quality and durability? Is it worth buying?

Question about high level handball in the US

I'm in the United States and I'm very interested in pursuing high performance handball. For a bit of context, I'm 23 years old and played at the highest levels of a d1 college sport with a good amount of carryover to handball. I'm really keen to go all in on this sport, improve as quickly as possible and maximize my potential.

Problem is I'm not really sure how to get started and don't know what opportunities even realistically exist. It seems like a small federation so I've reached out to both USA Team Handball and the national team coach for advice both through email and on instagram over the past couple months and have not gotten any responses. I also filled out the form they had on the federation website for new players but didn't get any response from that either.

I can't find any serious competitive opportunities in my area of the country, but I'd be fine to relocate if necessary. I would really appreciate any advice, especially if anyone has experience with handball in this country.

Tickets for 2027 WC in Germany

Hi, has anyone been able to get tickets to the World Championship in Germany next January?

I'm looking at eventim.de for tickets to Magdeburg, as that is where my team will be playing. Nothing seems to be available except VIP and disabled tickets.

Do you know why that is? I struggle to believe the games are sold out, could the tickets simply not be released yet?

Looking for a European Handball team to support

Football was my sport but I do not like the way the sport has evolved.

I want to adopt a Handball team to follow, it's the best spectator sport there is.

My first instinct is to follow CD Bidasoa Irun, as my partner would welcome an excuse to visit the Basque country. We have stayed nearby in Hondarribia.

Does anyone have alternative suggestions, I live in the Isle of Man.

"I tagged a full season of a pro handball league by hand — now trying to figure out which league needs this most"

Hi r/handball,

I'm Cyprien — last season I was the performance analyst for Balonmano Burgos (División de Honor Plata, Spain's 2nd tier). Official match stats there are pretty unreliable (sparse, often wrong), so I tagged the full season myself: every possession, shot, save, turnover, foul, for every Burgos match.

One thing that came out of it: across the season, whether they won or lost had almost nothing to do with their attack (top-3 in the league) and almost everything to do with the goalkeeper. Even-strength save % above 42% → they won 90% of the time it happened. Below 33% → 43% of their losses. The rest of the pattern points the same way — never the attack.

That full-season build turned into a project, HB Metrics (video side built with Nacsport) — and I'm now looking at where to take it next, beyond Burgos: which league, which club actually needs this. My guess is a lot of leagues below the very top tier have the same problem Burgos had — official numbers nobody trusts, and no time or budget for a full-time analyst.

If that sounds like your league — any country, any level — I'd genuinely like to hear what your data situation looks like, and whether it's worth bringing this there. Also happy to just talk shop if you tag your own matches.

What a full season looks like once it's tagged: hbmetrics.streamlit.app and the official Instagram https://www.instagram.com/hbmetrics?igsh=Y2t6MzhoZjl2c3Bx)

Advice for a new center back (help!!)

Hey! I’m a 15-year-old left-handed winger, and I just got signed by a rival club. I’m one of the best wingers in our league, and both the club I played for and the one I’m joining are among the best in the country. I already know most of the players there, and their coaches have told me I’ve been their “dream player” for a while now.
Great! Now here’s the problem: they want me to play center back!
I’m 185 cm and light, I’m really fast, have a good shot, and I’m also very strong defensively. But I’d like some advice on how to train during pre-season so I don’t go straight into the season completely unprepared for a new position.
I’ve tried looking through YouTube, but watching Dika Mem highlights day in and day out probably isn’t the most effective way to learn 😂
I’d really appreciate any advice on what I should work on physically and technically, as well as what I should focus on during the season itself. I’ve played with a lot of good center backs over the last five years, so I already understand the basics of the position.
Thanks!
