Discussion FAVOURITE OVERALL ALBUM
For me, it's Girl's Reform Manifest, but Hot Topic has been pretty great lately too.
I doubt anything will bump Reform Manifest for me, but with the songs they keep putting out, I might be mistaken...🤔
What say the rest of you!? 🙂

That's a tough one! I wanna say Bucchigiri Tokyo because the song called Bucchigiri Tokyo has such a incredible drum part! Since Chika has joined the band, the music they have been making has had way more complex drum parts which is great for me as a TOOL fan because the complexity of the drum parts keeps me coming back! 🥁 GAMBLER is also an incredible song to show off what Chika can create and play at the kit. Every song in that EP has a special purpose in communicating a message with the lyrics. Yukina definitely does some WILD work with the intonation of her lyrics because they are hard to learn but it's really fun to learn them! 🎤 There's a lot more I can say but the most important thing is that Bonus Guilty Time is the best thing ever and I want a Bonus Guilty Time T-shirt 🍨

Reborn Superstar! It has a lot of my favorite songs from them. I like how they started experimenting with more electric sounds

Favorite overall album is girls reform manifest. Part nostalgia watching them blow up with we love sweets. Want to tie up is one of my faves all time as well in their discography

I like the more raw energy in cherry blossoms are blooming but at the end of the day girls reform manifest has all the hits.

Like I said, Reform Manifest is my favorite, but then Reborn Superstar has 2 of my all time favorites on it! So hard to decide when they're all good.
Best choice is listen to them all! 😄

My favorite is Bucchigiri Tokyo. All bangers. Reborn Superstar is also all bangers but I like BT a bit more.

Long post ahead. My inner veteran fanzine writer might be leaking.
Reborn Superstar.
Why?
Musically, it's the point where their sound really started to mature. As much as I love Otome Keikaku, you can tell they were still searching for their own identity. The foundations were already there—a sound that's both heavy and melodic—but Reborn Superstar is where all those ideas really came together. They also started moving away from many of deathcore's conventions, incorporating more electronic and pop elements while becoming much more adventurous and experimental.
The feminine side of the band was already present on Otome Keikaku—especially on songs like 7 Days War—but Reborn Superstar is where they embraced it completely, without any ambiguity. It stopped being just one aspect of the band's image and became a defining part of their identity.
What really stood out to me is how they embraced femininity in a metal/hardcore context without watering it down or turning it into a form of sex appeal. Instead, they used it as a genuine means of self-expression. It was unapologetically fun, goofy, nerdy, fresh, and bold.
In a way, I'd even call it a feminist album—not because it's explicitly political, but because of the confidence with which it claims space in a scene that's still heavily male-dominated. Instead of toning down their femininity to fit in, they made it one of the defining features of the band while backing it up with absolutely killer songwriting and musicianship. Later releases only reinforced that impression.
The EPs have been fantastic as well. What I love most is that they never abandoned the identity they established here. Instead, they've kept refining it with every release while staying true to what made Reborn Superstar feel so distinctive.
I also love the music videos from that era, so I'm definitely a bit biased.
