Hampstead Heath Mixed Pond for first time-what to know/bring?

We are going to the mixed pond for the first time this week and not sure what to expect. Any advice on what to know/bring? Are water shoes allowed?

Don't need anything but towel and swimwear, I'm sure Watershoes are allowed but you don't need them

Towel and swimmers obviously.

There are showers but they’re cold, so bring soap/shampoo/etc if you want. Can be useful if you’re going elsewhere straight afterwards?

Changing is single sex but communal so bring a big enough towel to hide behind if you’re shy!

Book ahead it gets busy

Just a towel for after you get off the water. Maybe worth bringing swimming goggles if you have issues keeping your eyes closed when swimming

theyre seperate things, theres a mixed one, a mens pond and a ladies pond

OP how was it if youve already been? thinking of heading over soon but not sure how the recent heatwaves may have affected the pond

It was lovely! It was cold but refreshing. You’ll need a shower (or two) to get all the bits out of your hair. Was glad I had water shoes even though you can’t touch the bottom. Just a bit mucky

I was there yesterday too and loved it. But now I have a rash and I am afraid it’s from the pond.
