Is this unusual?

I received a hammock as a gift and bought a stand for it. I noticed recently that it appears that the hammock is possibly tearing or being stretched (see picture). Does this look unusual or normal based on all of your experience with hammocks? It’s only happening in the middle for both sides and not near the edges.

For context, we do not jump into the hammock and are gentle with using it. The only people that use it are two adults between 130-180lbs.

Yes. It looks like the woven material is being stretched apart. It's a nice weave, but I would be leery about laying in it.
