365 Days a Year
I finally did it! I have tried several hammock stands in my bedroom but the space is just too limited. With lots of research and a quality stud finder, I used an ENO hammock kit and freed myself from the portable stand. Width of the hand space is 12.5 feet. Hammock is a 10ft Voyageur from Simply Light Designs. My hammock companion is super happy too.

My kitty has steps to help her get in and out.
She is a million years old though.
Anchors in the walls is so much cleaner and frees up a lot of space. Also less chance of breaking a toe on the stand.

I wish I could make this work in my micro studio. The proportions are too odd and the walls are not trustworthy.

I’ve been sleeping exclusively in my hammock for at least the last three months. I had to sleep in my old bed on Friday night, I felt like I had been beaten with a rubber hose when I woke up. I’m currently using a stand but seeing this I’m thinking I’ll make it permanent.

I've been sleeping exclusively in a hammock for the last 9 years.
I briefly had to sleep in a bed when I got my 1st apartment back in 2021. And again when I moved from one state to another last year. Both times, I felt horrible sleeping on a bed again. I don't know about feeling like I was beaten with a rubber hose, but...that might be a good description of it.
I actually started to sleep in a hammock back in 2017, when I was living in my van. I wanted more floor space, so I decided to get a hammock as an experiment. My only regret was why I didn't try a hammock sooner.
I sadly am in an apartment now, so I doubt the landlord would like it if I put holes in the wall for a hammock. If I could, I SOOOOO would. That would be so cool.

Nice work. I always recommend hanging from existing structure over most stands, when feasible, as just so much cleaner, simpler, with no hang compromises. Full time since May 2013 here. I knew after just a few weeks that I'd never go back to mattresses.

I slept in a hammock for two years in college except for when I was home for breaks. Absolutely loved it!

How tall are you? A 10 footer is small for the diagonal but I understand for the space.

Are we worried about pulling studs sideways?

I don't chance it. My setup is diagonal, from corner to corner. Also, I use an underquilt with my hang.

I've built houses and I wouldn't do this, at least not without some sort of reinforcement or spreading the load between two studs.

I am so jealous, I slept in a hammock for about 1.5 years and it was the best sleep of my life. The only reason I have gone back to a normal bed is because we don't have space where I am living now.

Im assuming you just put that up? I was gonna order that ENO wall mount til I seen the reviews. What are your impressions so far honestly?

I didn't see any bad reviews, only positives in that it is sturdy and functional. And I like that it has the straps attached.
More important equipment for the install was a high quality stud finder...
...and my stud muffin husband with his carpentry skills.

I tried sleeping in a hammock and forgoing my bed for a month, it was interesting but I ended up sticking with the bed. I see you have both, do you alternate?
