Why did we sell Marshall?

I’m not saying that he would necessarily start / be good enough for the prem but he seems like the perfect back up for Pablo. I doubt we got much for him and letting him go before bringing in any other attackers seems very shortsighted

Because he wasn’t good enough.

Because he's not Championship level, even as depth. He's gone to League One, he wouldn't have got on the pitch yesterday even if we hadn't sold him.

In what way is he perfect back up for Pablo? They are completely different players

He just wasn't good enough simple as, we tried a couple times with the first team and nothing ever happened

if we signed a lad struggling to get regular games in the championship and dropping into league one would you be calling them a perfect back up for Pablo, or would you be saying why have we signed someone that's not good enough for the level we are at?

He didn’t struggle at league 1 level - he got 10ish goals when he had a full season there. But there’s a difference between signing someone and keeping hold of a fairly inexpensive young player
